Default Sport seat wiring diagram

Hi guys,

I've got a pair of 09 Cayman S sport seats that I'll adapt into a 944T-87. These are the same as 997 also.

The seats have only the backrest rake electrical otherwise height is manual. Don't know if these seats have heating and if so it would be nice to tie that in to. The 944 doesn't however have a switch for heating so this needs a seperate new switch somewere.

Wiring loom nr: 997.612.682.01

So which pin/cable should trigger the rake motors in the connection and which trigger heating?
The airbags are already out.

TIA

Hi guys!

I have some Qs about this since I have two sport seats that im selling and I dont know if they have the heated option so I´d like to try somehow to operate them or if its possible to see. The buyers obviously want to buy working stuff.

So my seats have pins on 4, 9, 14, 15, 16, 17. Drivers side also has the seat harness cables on 18 and 19.
#4 is big red
#9 is big brown
#14 is small brown
#15 is small brown
#16 is small yellow
#17 is smallblack
#18 is yellow
#19 is blue

Can I plug 12v to anything to work the backrest? Can i do anyting to see if the seats are heated?

Thread starter's seats obviously also has pin 8 and 13 which could be for the heating maybe?

Mucho appreciated!
/Peter

wish there was an easy way to tell if they were heated. As I am shopping for seats, people seeem to never know if they’re heated

You can definitely plug 12v to power the seats. I’ve posted that elsewhere. Not sure about whether how to confirm if heated or not. I vaguely recall there being an extra wire. Let me see if I can find some old pictures.

Ohh please do find that info! 🙏
You recall which pins to connect 12V?

Funny, didn’t notice but I was the OP 4 years ago with another set of seats but sold them and the buyer didn’t bother about the electrics.

From a previous write up I did on another site but unfortunately all the photobucket pics are gone. “According to the diagram pins 4 is power and 9 neutral/ground (within the yellow connector and receptacle).”

you can also use a t-tap on the red and brown wire in the wiring harness under the seat and connect straight to battery.

You guys probably have this resolved by now, but

Pins 8 and 13 are for the seat heater power.

Pin 4 is main 12v power +Pin 9 is ground

Hooking up to pins 4 and 9 will definitely make the seat recline work. I've done this with manual 997 sport seats in 2 928s and an office chair.

My white wire is 12v+ and brown wire is ground.

Does this mean you figured out how to make adapting sports seat work on manual sports seat in 997?

No, I worked with Saabateur last night with the full power seats that were outside his car to find a common power and ground on the driver's seat and there isn't one. I found a Pelican parts article where someone successfully rewired them but it pretty much destroys the OEM wiring and connectors which isn't with it to me. I'll just find a set of manual sport seats I know I can make work.

Here's the Pelican article - https://www.pelicanparts.com/techart..._997_seats.htm

I just bought some 997 memory seat to install in my 996 having read the Pelican article. But when I went on line a week or so ago I found that Pelican had just updated their entire website and somehow the pictures are not available. They said it would be corrected but I’m at a stand still until this is done. I am wondering if anyone has a copy of the article with the pictures?

The Internet Archive project to the rescue! It looks like they have a copy of the site from 2018 with the images: https://web.archive.org/web/20171201..._997_seats.htm

Thanks for this link. I made a donation to support the service. Seems to be a little problematic though. The first couple of picture opened great but others don’t and it says the url is not archived. I will keep trying. I will also try it on my computer as when I try to enlarge the pictures without opening the (on my iPad) the become blurred.

Good luck. I found some manual beige sport seats from a 981 and am having them dyed black to avoid the wiring difficulties - dropping them off on Tuesday.
