1st 911 for 2 brothers
Hi all,
Been lurking for weeks gaining much needed info on these wonderful cars. This month a dream was realized for my brother and I when we bought our first 911's. Being the older and more nostalgic of the two my brother went for a 1980sc which was owned by a local well known Porsche club member and DE instructor. It has a few nice upgrades and runs like a dream! My car is 2006 c2 6sp with higher mileage but incredibly clean and well cared for. Also has a few nice upgrades to include: Fabspeed exhaust and & intake boot (red $5 silicon tube variety), Pioneer Apple car play head unit. New stereo was installed professionally and really updated the interior not to mention the amazing features compared to the OE unit. So far I've undertaken / planned the following maintenance since the car is up on stands for the winter...
PTX gear box oil, motor oil & filter.
New exhaust hardware to replace somewhat corroded existing...
shift lever & cable upgrade (still deciding which solution to go with) Leaning towards shimming the OE unit and the el cheapo ebay SSK only for the adjustable aluminum bushings. Numeric cables.
Cleaned MAS, new air filter,
complete brake fluid flush (as part of complete caliper rebuild/refinish currently taking place)
Forgestar CF10 gunmetal (planned but still deciding) Need to sell the stock OE 18" Carrera III's.
Complete interior leather detail to bring back the matte finish.

Congrats to both of you. Wonderful way to be able to share and compare the various generations of 911.

Few more pics...
Front calipers are a breeze to work with. Pistons came out without issues and looked very sanitary inside. Both seals and dust boots are like new which is surprising considering the mileage on the car. Calipers undergoing a thorough cleanup and a tad of surface texture removal for a nicer finish during the painting process.
I added S tips to a non S Fabspeed end pipe. In other words the O.D. of the FabSpeed end pipe was of the smaller variety which entailed expanding it a tad and welding on a spacer for proper fit. Looks factory now... More to come. This is a slippery slope for sure. I've got plugs and coils if needed going on after the brake resto is done.

Double congratulations! Love how Porsche of Spokane is a 2016 Porsche Premier Dealer. I don't think there's even a Premier Dealer in Western Washington. Maybe where Montana and Idaho buys Porsche's based this Porsche dealer map . . . http://www.porschedealer.com/delta/?view=national
