I have 4 cases slated for delivery tomorrow. My first 2 cases arrived last week all good and at the time from Amazon as the seller. I immediately place an order for 4 more cases and it was still listed as Amazon at the time. I got confirmation of an expected delivery tomorrow.

My order came today, I only received 1 jug. I called Amazon and they are sending me a replacement order with overnight delivery. Similar to the previous posters the customer service person said they are going to ship me 4 more jugs and to just keep the 1 jug they already shipped me since for this particular item number they cant ship just 3.
Honestly, I knew the price was too good to be true, $58 for a case of 4 is simply too far below the typical price of $130 to $140 to be anything but a mistake on Amazons part. I placed the order to capitalize on an opportunity with very little risk. It worked. Lord knows I've been on the other side of pricing mistakes before so I'll chalk this one up as a win for now.

I can't seem to find any official Porsche documentation showing Motul 8100 X-cess 5W40 is NOT on the list or EXPIRED. I found a Microsoft docx format list from June 2015. But it's not official Porsche. As of right now, i'd trust an official Motul label over a generic Microsoft word document any day.

I'll call Porsche first thing in the morning to get an official master list, if they have one available.

It's obvious the oil is not Porsche certified and might damage the engines. Please forward the oil to me for proper disposal

Seriously, I don't think you can just claim Porsche A40 compatibility on the package just like that. You guys are overreacting over a spreadsheet. I ran that Motul in my Audi and it's really good, good cold starts, good under high heat.

I'm shorting Amazon stock. They are going to have a terrible end to Q3 with all this free Motul shenanigans.

I received 4 jugs for one order last night. Still awaiting 4 more jugs.

I called Porsche of Hawaii and Porsche Cars North America and they were completely unhelpful in finding a current master list of Porsche approved engine oils. It would be much appreciated if someone else here could call their local dealer parts or service department.

Based on what Motul USA said, i'm very still confident 8100 X-cess is Porsche A40 compliant.

I placed an order for 4 on the 23rd. Got one box of 4 today and one is scheduled for tomorrow but only weighs 10 pounds, so that'll be one jug. I have 2 coming Friday, one is for 4 jugs as I can see the weight, the other has no weight so don't know yet. When all is received I'll square away with Amazon as that's who the seller and shipper was.

I ordered 20 liters total on top of my existing stock of 12 liters which will probably hold me over for the entire ownership of my current 997.1 TT. BTW some of the older reviews mention only receiving one 5 liter bottle which was a mistake and has since been corrected. I ordered this 6 months ago (for twice the price) and i received four 5 liter bottles

I just checked this link and the price showing today is $129.00 for the 4 pack

Here one of many good examples, see post #25. There are more examples on Rennlist, if you search and/or watch these UOA threads. Another good one is in our Cayenne Forum.:

You can easily see how the high shear and high temp viscosities of the Motul are below the range for a 5W40 oil. Almost worse than obil 0W40.

Classic shear break down, and falling out of spec.

Here's how the Motul X-Cess shears out in the Cayenne:

This is making my head hurt a little. Looking forward to hearing back any word from Motul via Harry.

Lex- I get it that you prefer Mobil 5W50, but XCESS may still be better than Mobil 0W40? Not tracking, LA temperatures, low mile changes every six months or so...
