Default Pretty Rough DME Results >>

Looking at few cars and one of the DME reports came back with the below. Its one of the worst ones I have seen so thought I would share. Car has 25K miles on it.

Range 1 - 65535 - 1056h
Range 2 - 37881 - 1056h
Range 3 - 20270 - 1007h
Range 4 - 10061 - 1001h
Range 5 - 793 - 957h
Range 6 - 0

I passed on the car

Austin, that report is somewhat meaningless, until we know the total operating hours. That car appears to have a ridiculously low average mph (low 20s), too. Maybe the odo was also tweaked?

That info wasn't provided. Let me see if I can get it. The operating hours will just tell you how long ago those over-revs occurred correct? Regardless of how long ago... still hit pretty hard or am I reading the reports incorrectly?

Probably tracked. I've seen worse, but that is a lot of 4s. Remember that Porsche designed these cars to be run, too.

Given no other info that could clarify... Passing was the smart move.

No way, IMO. Not with a low 20 mph average. Unless the odo is serverly cooked.

Well, hypothetically, if the range 4's & 5's happened over 50 hours ago, it might be OK. Might be!

Just hard to imagine someone generating that many over revs in street driving, unless they're Vin Diesel in Fast and Furious. Good point about the MPH, though.

Isn't 65,535 the max number of recordings for the DME in range #1? Someone here might now. I think it is.

My theory is it was chipped and increased the Rev limiter so range 1 is essentially useless.

If the over rev counter is 16bit, 65535 is the max.

So many overrevs but average speed of 25 miles/hr!!!

You need to check operating hours in POSIP (airbag control unit) against the hours in engine control unit.

Wow... I would love to know operating hours but like others have said, avg MPH has to be in the 20-25 range which is low, especially for a car with overrevs like this.

Crazy.

Yup. Lowest I've ever seen. And I've seen hundreds. I think the odo has been cooked.

When I posted my DME someone mentioned this since my range ones are at that same number. I've only recently hit the redline myself so I'll have to recheck it. I believe that poster said the hits won't increase but the hour at which they happened will.

Where is the current hours? Impossible to calculate average MPH without it.
