Default The Roll Bar has Arrived!

The final piece of the HPDE safety upgrade has arrived and I am stoked!

I've been researching and procuring for a few weeks now and I'm now ready to get started on the actual upgrade.

DAS Sport Bolt In Roll Bar - dropping for powder coat Monday
Schroth Profi II 6 point harnesses
Recaro Pole Position seats (donated by a good friend)
Brey-Krause seat mounting hardware
Audi TT manual sliders - BK says they are the same as 996 manual sliders fingers crossed. Anyone else use these?

I'm organizing a mountain run into the NC mountains the last weekend of August and I'm shooting to have all this done by then.

Working on the Wilwood hitch and trailer next.

Impossible to get the roll bar picture to upload right side up...

Weekend project wrapped up with a lot of help from local and rennlist friends!

Both seats out.

Bose box gone

First part of roll bar attached to the shock towers.

With a little coercion the two are one.

Roll bar installed.

Recaro Pole Positions and Schroth harnesses and complete.

Have to remove it with the DAS Roll Bar. I think you can retain it with BBI, but I think that bar is like $700 more than DAS.

Thanks, yes, there is noticeable difference in stiffness at the rear of the car. I can tell by just going over the curb as I leave my driveway...and it is a little bit louder inside.

I already have solid engine mounts and I think the combination of losing the Bose box, losing a little sound deadening and carpet at the shock towers and having the bar bolted to the shock tower all contributes to a little more noise inside...which I personally like

Looks great. What was the motivation by the seats out of curiosity? Are they needed for the harness? Those don't look so comfortable for a trip.

Thank you!

Yes, need the seats for the harness and need it all for track days.

Honestly, the seats are just as, if not more, comfortable than my sport adaptive seats. Egress is a little more difficult as you can imagine...especially considering the amount of pain my entire body is in after spending two full days doing this job
