What is this unsearchable DMTL code???
After some spirited driving, parking, and restarting my 09 997.2 C4S, I got a CEL, visit shop message. I scanned it to find this fault code. Anyone seen an 8414 fault code? I can't find ANYTHING on this.
Cleared the fault, and it was gone for a few days. Then I jammed the gas and took it to +5k on the tach with the engine relatively cool one time to do a quick pass one day, parked it, and came out to have this fault again. Whaddupwiddat?

I had a similar pop and it was the gas cap but the error number was different: "5504 Tank System Leak"
https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...stem-leak.html
I had another "leak" error... don;t remember the code, where I cross threaded my oil cap... just a dopey thing I did. Unscrewed it, and re-seated it, reset the code.... done.
Try updating your Durametric software to the latest.... they had some common codes with wrong error numbers IIRC.
Also, try over at Renntech..... one of their moderators is a Porsche tech.

Thanks for the insight. Did yours pop under similar driving condition?
I did take a close look at the gas cap, and the seal looked fine. Remember how yours looked? I'm wondering if it's possible to visually inspect its condition. Guess I should inspect the oil filler cap next.

The gas cap looked fine, but I remember it feeling a bit "grindy" or rough when tightening it down. But I could see no flaws or degraded plastic. It is a cheap fix if you just want to see if it does it for you.
My CEL light from the gas cap first came on at high RPM while running for about 1 hour on the interstate.
Good luck,

I had the same code as you from my durametric. Also a 2009 C4S. It may also be logged as a P1484 on code readers. I replaced the gas cap, and the code still came back.
I brought the car into the dealership under warranty and they "removed the carbon canister, and replaced the DMTL with a new unit"
The part number they listed was 958-605-107-00. It was done very quickly in 1/2 a day, so it sounds like a pretty easy DIY although I have not researched it anymore.
Hope that helps somebody in the future.

Yup. Had to replace DMTL module too. Shop spent a lot of time and found nothing else wrong, so the module was assumed bad. Thanks for follow thru.

Interesting that it has a Cayenne part # (958-xxxxxxx).
