Default CEL 5504 Tank System Leak

CEL popped on this morning.....checked with Durametric and got a "5504 Tank System Leak" I am pretty sure it is the gas cap... ordered a new one from Pelican with rivet $17.50 with shipping.

The old one was turning on/off a bit.... "gritty" and not smooth like .... I kind of suspected it was going bad.

Peace

Did replacing the gas cap solve the issue?
I'm getting this code and even after changing the cap it still comes back.
I took the car to my indy after a couple of days of testing he didn't find anything wrong...
thanks,
Andy

Yes, my new gas cap worked fine. Good luck with that.

BTW, I did not need the $1 rivet.

Peace
