car dash camera
I'm looking into purchasing a car dash cam. Something compact and has good video quality and useful functions in the $200 range. Not a big fan for one with suction cup. Does anyone have any recommendation? I appreciate your input.

Agree with Bhmar8r, lot of crazy driving nut(s) out there. they are either texting while driving or on something who knows what. I saw a few motorcyclists with the GoPro on their helmets. You should check out that options.
Also, I read reviews on Rexing V1P dash cam on amazon for $129, offering both full HD 1080 for front cam and approx. VGA 640x480 for rear cam that has lot of good reviews. It is a newer product, a newer spin-out from previous version front cam only Rexing which had lot of thumb ups. I wonder if anyone had tried this?

Revisited this yesterday for a couple of hours and decided I would buy the Blackview. Discrete, portable between multiple vehicles, highly recommended, and quality.
Was leaning towards the Garmin, but seems to have some problems with freezing up and the mount.

Just FYI, here's another but this particular one does not have the integrated rear view. Other than that, I've been using it for more than a year and have been very happy with quality from the Sony imaging element in both day and night performance. Fortunately, I've only had to use it to show others amusing segments about other uh... less than talented drivers. It is right at your price point and the mounts are top notch (you get two, portable and fixed). The extra-long wire is great for running behind the trim for a nicely finished result.

Stormrun.
Like the video quality in low light on their site. Also your confidence in the product from using it over a year. Does it come with any SD card or one has to buy separately? Thanks

Thanks for showing us the product you choose. I check out the product size, does it look big for you? I meant their size affect your front view vision? Also the rear view camera also produces full HD video? How the video quality on play back mode? Its counterpart Wi-Fi version does not get good review. Would you recommend us with this product? Thanks for your response.

Unless... I ran a line to switched power in the fusebox to a hidden lighter socket I got at Radio Shack and plugged it into that I tucked the cable behind the trim for a clean looking install that automatically turns on and off.
