Default In which Porsche would you enjoy these beautiful roads ;)?

(start at 14minutes if you don't want to watch the whole video)

What Porsche would you choose and why? How does each model differ and which might be the most exciting on to drive on twisty roads like these?

Here a bit of input: Cayman S, Boxster S, Carrera S, Carrera 4s, Gt3, Cayman Gt4, Turbo?

Also, which generation would you take? I heard some people prefer the for example the 996 Gt3 over the others or the 997 gt3 (manual) over the 991 (automatic)

In case of the carrera, would you opt for a S or a 4S? I gotta say, the wide back looks very appealing.

Thank you for the video. I lived for a few years in Italy, on the shores of Lago Maggiore, and had a Boxster at the time. This video brought back many memories. Great place, great car, great time.

My own 997 2s done that but nowdays very light on the throttle. Switserland is not funny at all when it comes to speeding. 15 mph over the limit and you are in deep poop!

WAY too tight for anything speedy so go for the open air experience with a Boxster and some sort of modified exhaust which will echo off those walls.

This. Admire as much of that scenery as possible!

Also, isn't Switzerland one of those places where they take half your net wealth / your car / your genitals if you get a speeding ticket? I don't think I'd have the courage to do Sunday drives there...

yup. But I believe radar detectors are allowed so..

Do any of you have some insight into the cars and their driving ? What would you choose as a weekend car? I'm young and still in education (=no money for a Porsche) but I love to compare em

The drive is underwhelming. For Switzerland very disappointing. But I agree, a convertible is the appropriate car for that lame drive.

Boxster S, nothing beats top down driving on twisty roads. On a racetrack, definitely a GT3. I wouldn't want to roll over in a Boxster.

I just watched that last night. Wondering what road that was until I saw the road sign.

Radar detectors are probably pretty useless on twisty roads-- you tend to come around corners and stumble directly into the cop, who can then stop you based on their impression of your speed alone. Or at least, that's how it works here.

Thankfully, the police usually stick to setting up static speed traps on freeways here. I guess why wait around all day to catch a couple of dudes in sports cars on an empty back road when you could just set up shop on the 101 and write tickets continuously all day long?

Thanks for giving me insight into my country, you seem to be a true conosoisseur of the Swiss roads!

The road seems to be perfectly fine and I would love to drive there with a Porsche! There are obviously some roads which provide even more excitement..

Definitely gonna check out the video! Is a cabriolet the go to for a weekend / fun car without track days then ?

I'd be in my 964 c2 coupe. Narrow roads are a joy in a classic, air cooled 911. The modern cars need bigger speeds to enjoy.
