Default rear deck lid question

I have never heard the rear deck lid lift on my car, I know that it works, because I have used the button to raise it, and it makes a racket. I have driven the car well past 90 and never heard a peep out of the lid, am I missing something?

I mentioned this to a passenger in the car, and we tried to get it to pop up, but nothing doing, like I said the button pops it up just fine.

Have a friend follow you down the highway at high speed

If it makes a racket, look for the small lube holes near the supports and squirt some light oil or WD40 in there.

It's hard to see from in the car - I can just see the edge of mine barely if I rise up out of the seat as far as I can - probably not the best idea at highway speeds!

To fix the racket, you will notice some oiling holes on the "arms" ... shoot some penetrating grease in there and move it up and down a bunch of times. I like Winzer Polylube.... miracle stuff.

I read this as the OP wonders if his spoiler opens at speed, since he doesn't hear it. I don't hear (and am unable to see) the stock spoiler on my C2S. My wife following in another car confirms it does raise properly at about 75 MPH tho.

I will give it a bit of oil, thanks for the tip.

I guess I will assume it's doing it's thing, maybe it's less noticeable while moving above 70mph

I always thought Porsche was missing a marketing opportunity by not putting a little red light on the switch head. Pop red when deployed, black when retracted. Passengers will ask what that is.... cool marketing trick.

The spoiler on my car would squeal when I raised it using the button on a standstill but no sound when driving, guessing the wind noise diluted the squeak that was emitted.

With the massive racket coming from the tire-road noise at speed on our Seattle area interstates I never would hear the wing come up unless it set of fireworks while was deploying. Now that big rock that smacked my windscreen like a gunshot... THAT I heard.
