www.topbrakes.com has a 2-piece front set of dba (Disc Brakes Australia) slotted with aluminum hat rotor setup that I have on my wife's 997 C2S and they are great. Lower unspuing weight and you can just buy discs the next time. They also have temp paint on them so you can see how hot they're getting. Got a set of stlotted for the rear as well and painted the hat black to match the front with high-temp brake paint. Running Hawk HPS pads, but you might want to try the Hawk Ceramics as the HPS are still a bit dusty - nowhere near stock though.

She actually did them using G2 caliper paint with some guidance and disassembly / reassembly by me (did stainless lines at the same time). The caliper decals were all her with a heat resistant vinyl. Least I could do for stealing the PCCB setup that her car came with

When I did the brake job last year on my '09 C2, I bought all Porsche parts from Sunset Porsche. They were great to work with and the prices were very, very good.
I, like you, drive only on public roads but I do drive more aggressively than most people and I am a very late braker. I found the stock parts to be completely up to the task of stopping my car.
