I love this thread so much. Following along the build of an epic 997.2. I look forward to the day I can do my own 997.2 build thread. Hopefully as epic as this one.
Massive kudos! 997.2 is just the best.
I love that you darkened the interior trim of the 997.2 adaptive headlight. I am wondering how this holding up and what color did you go with? it looks like a dark grey. Ive seen some other photos of blacked out interior trim but IMHO if you go too black it doesn't look as good as a dark grey. So curious the color choice.

The mods on old Ragnarok are less frequent as I've got it pretty dialed in. Additionally, I've been spending free time mostly being a dad and sorting my new house and barn find E46 M3 (also have the new Bronco incoming). However, this car gets its legs stretched plenty and there are always things to fiddle with. Onto the latest fiddling....
I'm big on tactile mods... seats, steering wheel, door pulls, shifter, pedals, et al. All the stuff you feel while you're actually driving the car. Don't get me wrong performance and cosmetic mods are great too. You all know I have plenty of those. Tactile mods are my jam though.
My shifter was the neglected element in my interior. I went back and forth for a few years about getting a weighted wooden shift **** but I've only seen one application that looked good in the 997. The wood looks great, the shifter looks like an afterthought.
So I was excited to see Heavy ***** product hit the forums last month and received my set shortly after. I didn't think it could do much with the space the pieces were filling but to my pleasant surprise, they converted the lighter plastic standard shifter from a bit of an afterthought to an enjoyable experience to the already great 997 6MT. I tossed some pics from the past half year in here to catch us all up. I'm doing mostly long rallies now. Did a trip to Minnesota last fall for the Overcrest Rally and am headed out to West Virginia in June for the Ruchlos Rally. Then hopefully out west (our south) in the fall.

2021 is wrapped.
I did a long road trip to Snowshoe this summer for a Porsche meetup. On the way I made a detour to Ohio 555 (the triple nickel). Driving that road made me car sick for the first time in my life. I only needed to slow a bit and open a window but the switchbacks and mostly the undulating elevation did me in. What an amazing road. Find it and take it if you ever have the opportunity.
Another trip took me to Indy for Sportscar Together, Luft 7 and our Checkeditout Pop Up where I had the fortune of hopping on the Indy Motor Speedway for some parade laps that, if I'm being honest, were basically unregulated in terms of speed. Pulling 4th on the back straight across the brickyard is something special.
Other than that, I added tartan to the back seats this year. Didn't I say I was done with mods? I'd say it again but we know there will likely be something next year too.
Here are some various pics from 2021. Hope everyone is happy and healthy.

Wow, nw, didn’t realize you had a god-status GTS! My respect level for your posts in the “GTS for sale” thread has now peaked! Amazing story. Will need to do one of these, too, albeit far more boring lol! Mine is littered with overspending on preventative maintenance lol (like a jaded former high-mileage E46 M3 owner).

For the sake of continuity, here's a brief 2023 update.
The only mod this year is a balsa shift ****. This was a long time coming and a no brainer. I should have done this sooner.
I'm nearly certain I'll be painting and installing the Sport Classic ducktail wall decoration in 2024 to complete the package. No I will not be selling the Aerokit wing. It will go on the wall.
Other than that, I put a little over a thousand miles on the GTS with a few local Midwest events. The bulk of my travels were in the new Bronco which is great compliment to the GTS. Horses for courses as they say. No pun intended.
