Can you even see the brake dust when they are gunmetal?

Yes they are painted, not powder coated. Not sure on the brake dust question yet as I only had them painted on Saturday. I did however apply a good coat of Chemical Guys Wax and Sealant, so I'm hoping that helps with the dust removal.

Congrats, same car as mine but with black interior. After looking at yours its obvious I need to change the clear stone guards....mine have a slight tint of yellowing.

Mine have yellowed also, but I gave them a cut and polish with my Porter cable and it improved them a little. I'm thinking theres maybe a film of dirt/grease that adheres to the outside that can be removed. The film itself definitely yellows from the UV though. I may swap them out for Xpel made guards, when the time comes, to see how that material performs.

You will miss that wide rear end of the 996c4s. The 996 c4s cars have one of the nicest rears of the water cooled cars. That said about the only (likely the only thing) better then a 997. 996 c4s are wonderful cars but believe u will find the 997 better on nearly every level.

Yes, Wheel Dynamics, I did go gloss - not sure if it is full gloss or semi gloss but either way i like how they turned out. Also the gunmetal has a slight bronze to it in certain light which I really like.

I’ve had the car for just over a week and I’ve put 2000 miles on it but most of that was freeway driving so it’s difficult to do a full comparison. Also, although they are both 911’s from a similar platform, it is not really apples to apples. A C4S is a lot different than a C2S, and a 996 is quite a bit different than a 997… but with that said here’s a few things that I’ve noticed. By the way my previous car was a 2002 C4S.
1. The 996 C4S definitely has the better rear end. This is compounded by the Seal Grey color which is fantastic and really shows off the curves. The 997S has the better front end, lights, fender profile, etc, except for the bumper...I do like the C4S air inlet design.
2. The 997 C2S feels lighter, especially at the front end – no surprise there though. A 996C2S probably feels lighter than the 996 C4S.
3. The 996 C4S feels a little more raw and firmer than the 997 and I think that may be down to the suspension. I’ve concluded that the C4S suspension feels in-between the normal mode and sport mode on the 997S. To me the 997 sport mode is too harsh for day to day driving. The 996 C4S seams well planted and probably set about right for my tastes.
4. Both cars are well put together – hardly any squeaks and everything feels solid. The leather on the seats feels really good in both cars. I look after my cars but still, the quality of the materials is evident. The 997S is 6 years newer and therefore has a few more mod cons, although on the new car I don’t have full leather, which is definitely a nice option.
I still really like the 996 C4S and would definitely have another one. For the money, there’s no better car out there, but for the next 3 years (or even longer) I'm going to really enjoy the 997S. These are both great daily driver cars...can I keep both Mrs. Bank Manager!

I must admit the 996 is overlooked and a great value. Seal grey is tough to beat and I'd prefer this to my silver. I wouldn't mind having both too, say adding a 996 cab to the garage. Enjoy.
