I've noticed the last couple days the OCD type behavior I have when I start up my C4S. Here is what I tend to do, every time;
1) Show a huge grin as I open the garage door, knowing what I'm about to do
2) Turn Key to check oil level
3) Push In Clutch
4) Take Car out of Gear
5) Start Car
6) Reach for the Sport Button to activate
7) Turn off PASM
8.) Activate iTunes for my TranzitBlu
9) Sit Back and relax while car warms up
10) Continue to smile during entire process
What do you guys or gals do?

sit inside
depress clutch
turn key in wrong direction
turn key in right direction
swear to myself that one day I'll get it right first time
remove myself from car
smoke two (2) cigarettes while 16 qts of oil warm up

That smoking will reduce your enjoyment time with the 911.

Sit inside
Insert Key
Turn to position 1
Check TPMS level
Start car
Wait for oil pressure to settle
Place PDK in reverse and drive out of garage
Take it easy until car is warmed up

Turn key... check oil... pop into neutral without pressing the clutch pedal, because I always pop it into neutral without pressing the clutch pedal (garage, driving, doesn't matter)... then I pause to acknowledge what car I am in... turn key, car doesn't start, because at 48 I think I am senile... then I remember to press clutch pedal... and...
...if she sat for more than a week, I crank briefly but stop it before it turns over... then I start it on next cranking.
Hey, you asked.
And I'm bored today.

1) Get in car, close door, put on seatbelt
2) move key towards right-hand side of steering column
3) realize this isn't my daily driver then move key towards *left* side of column where ignition actually is
4) insert key, start car, drive off
(after a year of owning this car this behavior is finally starting to wane..)

Great responses. We all have some sort of OCD.
My wife got out of a 750IL to a Panamera S. The key on the left is the hardest thing for her. Wish the car had keyless entry like the 750 but she is totally in love with the Panamera despite the key.

Mine stays in a heated garage 5 stories below so no matter the time of year its always 65 degrees or so. I start it, wait until the RPMs die down (15 seconds or so) then drive. Keep RPMS below 3-3500 until warmed up.

You should only sit there with the car running until the elevated rpm drops to normal level and drive off while warming it up the rest of the way. Reasons for this are that in the 997.1 cars the highest loads on the IMS bearing are when the car is at idle and also because the enriching procedure that warms the engine and cats makes the engine run rich and it's better to use that extra fuel for driving rather than it diluting the oil. Also, no hard acceleration runs until the oil is up closer to 175/200 and no rpms above 3,000 either.
