Am I looking for a rare car/color combo?
Hi - I've been on the hunt for a White on Beige 997.2 Manual C2S for a few months now, and have yet to see one pop up.
I'm wondering if there's a way to see how many of each color/model combination was sold, to see if I'm looking for an impossible combination. I've seen many C2 with this combo, some C4S (usually tiptronic not manual), and even some Cream White/C2S/Manual but not having much luck with the combo I'm looking for.
I'm tempted to look at some early year 991.1 C2 or C2S to get this combo, but would really love to stay in the 997.2 camp if possible
Thanks

I purchased my Carrera White with Sand Beige interior 997.2S with MT last year. Never thought it was rare or anything like that. At the time I was looking for a Blue 997.2S with black interior and couldn't find any. I'm referring to that real blue color, not the dark or light blue.
Edit: I was looking for Cobalt Blue

Porsche doesn't publish production numbers by color, unfortunately. As mentioned above, the vast majority of 911s sold in the US are some variant of silver, gray or black. White, blue, red and yellow cars are thought to make up less than 10% of sales combined. Additionally, most interiors are black.
When you start looking for more unusual colors, it gets even more difficult.

Wow, less than 10%? I had no idea - I'll know to jump on it if I ever see one then!
GT2RS, I'm totally envious. CW on Sand beige is exactly what I'm looking for. If I find one in real blue on black, interested in a swap? . (Just Kidding... kind of...)

One of the other RL members did some statistical analysis of turbos that were sold in the US based on VIN numbers. It's not exact, but it gives a pretty good idea of the colors of the turbos sold in the US. In 2008, it looks like somewhere around 10 turbo cabriolets were sold in the US in Macadamia Brown Metallic.
Unusual colors really appeal to some buyers, but it's probably a smaller number of buyers than those who seek more common colors.
Good luck!

Eurobeige (Arctic Silver) on Black reporting in.
I wanted a Carrera White 987.2 or 997.2, but had more luck with grayscale colors (I guess white is part of the grayscale too).
It's crazy to me how some colors will really pull a premium. I was never a fan of silver on certain cars, but it does look good on a 911.

This combo doesn't seem particularly rare and if the color combo is the major factor in your decision I think you will find one. But once you factor in other requirements like price, mileage, options, CPO, geographic location, etc. any 911 can become hard to find.

Wow this info put a good start to my day. Last year I was searching for a good 5 months before I couldn't take it anymore and had to scratch the itch. Found this CPO c2s at a local dealership on the internet, test drove that same weekend, and signed the papers that same day (rookie mistake, I should have played hard ball to get the price down a tad and get the usb/aux/ipod connection thrown in for free. They did fill up the front license plate holes and repaint for free though.) But at the end of the day I'm still extremely happy and blessed to be a 911 owner.
But I have to say one negative of Carrera White is that the rear bumper easily gets dirty from road debris kicking up.

Despite the rarity of the Macadamia Brown Metallic 997 turbo cabriolet, another one showed up at one of our local PCA drives last fall. Mine is the one on the right with the top up. I mention this to show that you never know when or where the car that you want will turn up. Be patient and keep looking, and you'll find what you want.

Isn't it true the car color combo you drool over only pops up after you make the purchase for the your number 2 or 3 option???
I think the hardest part in the whole purchasing process is the timing of when you are ready for a new ride and the patience of finding the right one in the color combo you want, combined with the stress of dealing with the PPI and history of the car...
