Cross shopping the 997.2

Comparing a Vette to a 997.2 is not close IMO...two totally different cars.
Want to actually drive and feel the car provide proper feedback and play with it? 997.2
Want to make a loud burn-out and see yourself drive down the road daily? Vette

Three Wheelin'
They're different cars, but the Vette is a highly capable machine. The 997 is different, in that you can annoy people talking about the rear-engine dynamics (overblown) and the analogue feel (puke) but there's no performance insult to be hurled at the Vette.

I considered an early Vanquish, Stingray, Jag XKR, base 991, 964 (disregarded because Ive owned a couple and didnt see the values in current values) Bently GT.
I had a 40-65k price range. The perfect auto was relatively cheap to own/maintain, hold its value, good looks with performance to match. I already own an exotic, so an every day fun car was on the books.
End of the day, the 997 checked off all the boxes and I couldnt be happier.

Race Car
Stingray / used Aston / Uses Maserati - nice cars.
If you want a real bargain supercar with exotic specs get your hands on the new Shelby GT350 Track Pack or R. Flat Plane Crank V8 / Mangeride suspension / Alcantara race interior - you won't find this in anything under 200k. Bulletproof track car. Another one to consider is the new Viper ACR but that's a high price. The GT350 is the best high performance car available in your price range by a longhshot (if you can find one). Can it replace the 911 experience? No. Nothing can - and vice versa.
Kind of odd the 997 crowd hasn't picked up on this - the GT3 crowd is all over it. Different wants I suppose.
If this is a daily driver then I will say 911 - if this is a sunday driver/track car / show off car get the GT350 - runs circles around everything mentioned in all categories, no contest. It already won 2016 Performance car of the year - 2015 was the 991 GT3. It's in that realm.

I actually cross-shopped with an Evo - 7 years ago. I was coming out of an R53 Cooper S and a Lexus GS430, so the P-brand was a bit of a step up. Glad I stepped up though.
