Default Cross shopping the 997.2

Anyone cross shop the 997.2? What other cars did you consider? I'm considering a C7 corvette but it's a very different car compared to the 997.2.

I like the C7 a lot too, not that I've driven one. But having back seats is nice for kids and small flexible adults.

That's the main drawback for me right now...

This is similar to the M4 vs. 911 thread, which I find odd. You either want to own a Vette or own a 911. Deciding between the two is an apples to oranges comparison.

Hope your choice satisfies over the long haul.

it really depends on what you want from the car......if you want to go fast get the corvette....if you want to impress your neighbors get the po

Ditto. Its nuts. Seriously, it shows real lack of knowledge. Either you want a 911, or you can settle for a car. Self-knowledge as well, come to think of it.

Do you want the Euro Trash stereotype or the gold chain wifebeater stereotype?

Pick one.

I would like to ship the current Vette off to a coach builder. It looks wonky and 'off' to me. Sort of... Japanese-ish. Yuck.

I am scoping out a 997.2 though.

I have a 2002 Z06 right now...ready to upgrade. 997.2 C2S/C4S is my main search.

A C63 would be on my list if came in a manual. Not interested in C6 or C7, M3/M4, anything Audi or Lexus.

I sort of thought about an Exige but it's too small. 350R is badass but still a mustang.

The AR Guila Quadrifolgio is the only other car that is close to a 997.2. But, it's not even in production yet, reliability could be a concern (I'm nowhere close to a dealer), and depreciation could be a PITA if they fix major issues on the 1st gen.

So, I'm not really cross shopping at all haha. It's a 997.2 all the way...just waiting for the right one.

I think the Vette only looks good in black or dark grey. So many black plastic fantastic bits that stick out on the lighter colored cars.

Just got a 997.2 C2S about 4 weeks ago. Have been a Merc owner for 30 years (still own a vintage AMG). Was deciding between the 911 and an AMG CLK63 Black Series. Different cars, I know, but that was my final 2 cars. In the end, I wanted to get back to a P-car.

If you like Lotus, then you should look at the Evora. I considered one before I bought my 997 turbo. They are very exotic looking and they have a back seat.

Aston DB9 / Vantage. Bentley Continental GT/C. Maserati Grand Turismo. Jaguar F Type R.

These are the ones I looked at. GTC was really nice.
