Default anybody know this '06 911 'S' convert ???

Hi Rennlisters-

I'm a 993 and 991 guy and don't know much about 997's. Any thoughts (pro/cons) on this car or delaership? A buddy is looking at it and I'd like to get your knowledgeable thoughts to him. BTW, any major IMS issues on the '06's ??

Thanks!!

Low mileage is not an advantage on these cars, but this '06 should have the larger IMS bearing so unless it has been tracked or he plans to track it, he should be OK on that front. If the water pump hasn't been changed, he should factor in the cost of that. Whether beingvdriven or not, the pump impeller and bearing are sitting in coolant all the time.

It's a pretty basic S car - doesn't look like full leather, no sports Chrono, no PSE, but the Fabspeed exhaust and intake are nice plusses. Has one of myvleast favorite wheels on it, but others like those - easy enough to change if he doesn't like them. Plastic center console feels very cheap and he may want to upgrade that to a carbon o e to go with the rest of the CF trim, or a leather one. For a basic S, I think the price is high. If he can buy it arounfld $40-$41k, he'd be doing OK.

Needs a DME report as part of the PPI to check overrevs. Being a 6MT, and with the Fabspeed upgrades, he needs to know how hard it was driven by checking for overrevs. Is it a CPO car? If not he might want to see if they'll CPO it and that would be worth a couple more thousand over my previous price range, but it might now be too old to get an '06 CPO'd.
