From the consensus I got with discussions we previously had when we first announced this product on our forum is that you still do not have the proper amount of height to drop the engine with the SUV adapters. We have not tried ourselves, but this is what we were told from our community members.

As far as fitment for the 7000SLX on your Cayenne and RS4, what I recommend you do is measure your front lifting point to your rear lifting point on your 997. Write that distance between the two lifting points on your 997 down and then measure your other vehicles to compare. The 5000SLX and 7000SLX both share the same overall frame length, which is 72.5". However, the lifting points spread (the rubber points that sit onto your vehicles lifting points) are about 60" apart. You can also measure and see if the Cayenne and RS4 lifting points are both no longer than 60". If they are, the unit will not work for those vehicles without modification. It should definitely work for your 997 as it is about the same as the 5000SLX unit.
I also have a call into QJ for more info and will reply back once I get a hold of them.

i figured the cayenne would be safe bc of the heavier duty rating and the rs4 and the carrera would be the questionable cars. Please let me know if I have misunderstood.

I have the 5000 SLX because 7000 SLX is always out of stock. I use it on my A4 which is the same chassis as your RS4s, fit is perfect. Not sure about the 7000 SLX but specs on rubber block max and min positions are the same as for 5000 SLX.
PP, do you sell the SUV adapters separately?
upier, do you have the jack backwards in that photo? I jack up my 997 up like the picture in the first post. Can someone clue me in which way is correct or whether it matters at all.

I do know the 5000SLX unit frame length and jack pad spread WILL work on the 997 as it was specifically designed with the 997 in mind as their old design was too short leading individuals to having to modify the unit. Therefore, since the 7000SLX and 5000SLX units share the same frame length and jack pad spread, it should work for your 997. I am unsure about the RS4 and Cayenne due to not physically knowing what their jacking point distances are. However, it looks like dbv1 has confirmed it should work for your RS4. Just be sure to measure the Cayenne points.
Edit: here is the diagram from page 1 in this thread that I posted with the QJ stats (mostly to highlight the frame length info):

Yes, the SUV adapters are listed for sale separately here: http://www.pelicanparts.com/BMW/cata...BNDpak_pg5.htm.

That's the way I always use it since I plug it in at the front of my garage. It shouldn't matter. The jack has no idea which way the car is facing.

Thanks Upier for this. Looks like a very nice lift for someone like me that has very little height because of the low hip roof over the garage and I have "conventional" garage doors that hang an inch or two below the garage ceiling.

As much as I would love to have a 2 post lift in my garage, I'm in the same situation. I'm probably going this route as well.
