Default Knee pad removal

So I have this annoying rattle coming from the knee pad below the steering wheel. While the car is parked I can duplicate the rattle by gently bumping the knee pad, or pad under the steering wheel. I want to remove and place something, felt tape, rubber, anything between pieces to eliminate this rattle.

Any suggestions how to remove knee pad. And I promise I did a search before asking!

See this thread:
https://rennlist.com/forums/997-gt2-...moval-diy.html

It is also listed in the main 997 DIY Index:
https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...ech-index.html

It's also part of the process to remove the center console or gear trim/surround.

EDIT: the vertical panels on both sides of the center console are usually referred to as knee pads. Upon reading your post again, it seemed you may be referring to something directly below the steering wheel?
