i have read a lot about keeping the battery well charged for the best longevity of your battery. I bought a cheap one from Walmart with a smart chip built in and just keep it connected to the battery. When its time to go out for my monthly drive, I just unplug the part connected to the wall, place the unit in the trunk and drive away. I always have a fully charged battery.

A few more questions
I purchased the 3300 and the separate cig lighter attachment
The instructions arent really for the cig lighter attachment
Do I just:"
1. Plug into the lighter
2. Plug into the outlet
3. Place it on the middle setting?
4. THat's it?

5. Can I use with an extension cord??

Sambb-I use an extension cord with mine all the time, no problems.

I just purchased a Black and Decker on Amazon.com. It appears to do everything the more expensive brand do and it's $18.99 and it comes with a battery hook up AND a cigarette adaptor.
ships free with Prime and I got mine the next day. I haven't hooked it up yet but it looks like it will do the job and is as good of quality as the other brands.

Here is the link for anyone who is interested.

Affirmative to all 5. To disconnect unplug from the wall, remove plug from the lighter socket.

Cold setting refers to battery cranking power. Not the weather. It's in the manual. I suggest you read it to clear up basics.

Manual says use the "snowflake" setting for charging at low temperatures and for power AGM batteries like Optima and Odyessy.

I have the manual. It doesn't refer to cranking. Perhaps we all need to read the manual to clear up the basics. It states for temps

I have failed you all and myself. And I'm usually one to double check info before posting and not post at all for worry of spreading misinfo. I just checked the manual myself

Correct, it's certain AGM batteries which have higher cranking amperage but and also correct the snow setting is for anything under 41F.

No worries - there are no failures here at this great forum.
I have a 3300 too and use the snowflake mode for my Optima battery, irrespective of winter or not. The snowflake mode give an higher charger voltage requirement for this type of batteries. If you charge an AGM battery in normal mode it will never charge the battery as the charging voltage is not sufficient.

I like the 3300 as it can charge my ATV battery as well.

ok, so i started charging on the snowflake setting, and both the battery light and the snowflake light are red. I assume that means it is charging.
It has been that way for about 6 hours. However, i have never really had a problem starting the car (I drive it every weekend for ~10 miles). I assume this is all normal.

10 miles seems hardly enough to to get the oil up to full operating temp. My OEM trickle charge does not have a snowflake, only a choice between motorcycle or car. I've also found that a a certain battery state it can take over ten hours before the green light comes on.
