trickle charger
Be careful just leaving it plugged in all the time, it will ironically ruin your battery over time, keeping it totally topped off. If you're going to drive through the winter now and then, every 2 weeks or so, you shouldn't need a tender. I have one and haven't used it in two winters, but I will take my car out when temps allow. Even the batteries from my boats that we take out each winter and put on the bench and plug them in once a month for a while. They last season after season.
All the ones mentioned above work just fine.
I have a Porsche OEM black box style that I have used for 20 years without a problem. Ctek is the version that is now being marketed with a Porsche logo. Amazon sells them for a lot less.

Battery Tender junior is high quality, lowest cost. Will accomplish exactly what you want. It doesn't come with the cigarette lighter extension. You need to order this separately.
PS- don't start your car and drive short distances. That will lead to moisture build up in your oil/engine. Unless you intend to drive for 1/2 hour or more, don't start the engine at all.

My CTEK (identical to Porsche version) has been attached continuously while the car is in the garage for six years. With only 23K on it, the battery would have long since died without the CTEK. I park and plug it in.
this may be a silly question but would somebody be so kind to let me know how you route your cable when using either the cigarette adapter or directly plugged into the Battery.
I just want to see who you are doing this.
On my SUV it is simple since there is a gab and I can close the hood.
However the Frunk of the 911 has a light in it and leaving the door open is not really a good idea.
thank you

Accordingly, I now use the connector attached to the battery terminals, with the cable fed under the trailing edge of the frunk hatch towards the windscreen to connect to the charger, which sits on the screen nestled against one of the wipers to prevent it slipping. This allows me to leave the frunk closed, windows up and doors locked when charging.
I have the quick connector attached directly to the battery and the cable is just squeezed between the lid to the battery box and the surrounding cover. But the lid is not a super tight fit so it works perfectly. Then I just have the quick connector put just under the hood so I can see the LED indicator from inside the car. The cable and end of connector is just tucked in there. I was thinking about a cable tie to fasten it but it works fine.
I used to run the charger through the frunk. The frunk lid can close on the wire with no issues. It became a pain to pop the Frunk and disconnect the way my car is parked.
I now plug through the cig lighter. The weather stripping on the passenger door has a notch (lower left, when looking at the door from the outside) where you can route a cable and close the door on it. Thats how I do it. If I left the car for months, I'd go through the Frunk. But I plug in during the winter and the car can sit for weeks or just days so the door is more convenient.
