My brain fart -- it was Basalt Black, which to me looks like the darkest shade of a metallic grey possible.

A 997.1 C4S 6MT with SC popped up on my cars.com search this morning, from a dealer in TX for $39,990. Lots of detailed pictures and it looked great. By the time I got to work it was taken off. I did get a peak of the carfax and it did have a report of a rear-end collision. Provided it was properly repaired and passed a PPI I would of scooped that up.

I found that 997.1 and .2s C4S's go really fast, when I was looking. Luckily I searched Cramax one Sunday evening on-line and found mine.

997.2 c4s are also bloody expensive right now. Compared to that mass of cheap c2 991 cars. Impressive.

I like this one.

$54,970 @ 14,000 miles. 2009 997.2 with the DI engine.

Manual, Bose w/ bluetooth and nav. Seat heating and ventilation.

If it had full leather it might be a buy for me. Needs other wheels and clear tail lights.

Those can all be changed. Tail lights can be swapped, new wheels can be bought and the old ones used as snow tires. I have even added all the leather panels to my car except the dash to make it a full leather package car.

I was trying to find one with all the options but adding my own makes it mine and was also fun.

Hopefully this isn't an early sign that the price of these cars is starting to increase, at least not before I buy mine!

Just stalk the car. Put the VIN into a regular Google search, kill all the annoying VIN lookup services with Google's blocklist and off you go. It will be moved to a different dealer at some point, most of the time.

I don't get it. What are you suggesting a frequent google search of the VIN accomplishes? I don't know what "blocklist" means either. Are you suggesting somehow spoiling the google VIN search result and that will somehow deter other potential buyers?

There is a Chrome extension that allows you to kill specific sites you don't like from Google search results.
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...aogikpmpbdcdef
You can use it to kill the VIN spam.

Then you could put the search for that VIN into your daily/hourly rotation and you would see when this dealer pushes the car to another location or a different dealer. That would reset the pricing.

I agree, I would have liked full leather but it was not mandatory. As said you can add most of the leather panels via dismantlers or buy new ones. The dash is pricey to add but the other pieces are not that pricey if you look around.

I would love the dash but the cost of install makes me pause, plus if I was to do it myself I feel there would be a lot of rattles at best, at worst half the stuff wouldn't work back there!

It pains me to post this one, cause I should be buying it! I've unfortunately decided to suspend my search for a bit. Only bright side I can potentially think of is maybe when I start again there will be more .2's in my range.

Not a steal but a real solid deal I think: white 997.1 C4S for $49k

This 07 targa 4 6MT isn't really a great deal for a non S at 49k, but man is it gorgeous! I love the 997 targas.
