Get the phone holder that inserts into the CD slot. Best out there. Great position, does not block vents, and very solid.

Congrats on the 997. I love mine.

Driving around today made me think of a good place for the iPhone. The center console works great as a place to set the phone on when not moving, but flies off when driving. So I am going to see about using a magnet and then a piece of metal in the back of my iPhone case. Maybe right under the cigarette cover.
