Better trust your run group and the people running your event.

They are quiet safe for you car and yourself.
I recommend you look into the experiance as it will not only make you a better driver but you will get the most enjoyment out of your Porsche. Porsche went to great lengths to engineer these cars to be driven in spirited and reliable manner. You spent a great sum of money for this engineering in your Porsche. Why would you not exploit the engineers hard work? Why would a Ferrari owner not do the same?
Good thing it sounds like it, unfortunately, I'm addicted to track days....

Yes, I agree, it's quite safe and knock on wood, I haven't had any issues. If you go out enough you'll see bad things that just happen. In 2015, one Panamera Turbo went into a tire wall, $20k in repairs. Surprisingly the guy's insurance paid for it. I saw two other incidents this year, however it was really raining that day. These are all PCA DE events.

But yes, it's an exaggeration about lighting your car on fire, but you do need to be prepared to give up the ghost by your own mistakes or someone else.

And yes, it's relatively safe and I hope I'm not scaring anyone out there. I saw the Panamera Turbo guy last week and he's ready to get back on track!

The only reason I wouldn't track my car is because I ran out of $$$. LOL

Do you have data from Gingerman in your car you can share with me? I tracked Gingerman a month ago and was shifting down into second gear in turn one and two to keep revs in the power range but was told most cars will not be out of third. So it would be good to see some data on the exact same car (I have a '12 GTS).

I know this depends on tires and brakes but any data helps.

You can PM me. Thx!

Indeed. We all started doing DE's about the same time. Do you run with GGR?
