Does the Smartop work with the ignition off, being a Coupe guy I don't know. Curious if shutting off the ignition would have stopped the cycle and let you get the windows back up.

Also, if you are going to use a car wash (which I wouldn't on my p-cars), never use one that has the wheel tracks that automatically advance your car through. With the low-profile tires and very wide rear wheels, there's a 99% chance they'd ruin at least one wheel.

This is why when inside the car wash I just sit there and enjoy the show. There's enough time for futzing around with other stuff AFTER the car is dried off.

oh boy...nothing like that panic mode in your head. Good for you to not work yourself over too much. Man...i have done stuff like that on other items and you start freaking out and then just accept the outcome. Hope you had a huuuuge beer afterward.

My wife's grandmother did that in her Caprice Classic. Drove into the car wash and turned off the car--didn't realize the windows were down until the water started shooting in. Then she panicked and couldn't get the windows back up because the ignition was off. She sat through the whole wash cycle that way.

Funny part is that she was coming home from the beauty parlor and she was much more distraught about her ruined hairdo than she was about the soaked interior.

Now I can tell her that she's not the only person I know who has done that.

No doubt that high speed train will be an endless financial black hole. To the politicians, however, it is a much sexier option than water desalination, so the exorbitant cost of the rail system doesn't matter to them. They will cover it through their carbon taxes and add on whatever other taxes they need to fill the huge budget gaps.

Please dont get me started on that damn dumbass train....Formerly in the Transportation Industry, can explain this very simply....if Amtrac loses it *** every year, how the hell is this short haul route going to make any money, especially since it appears they wont get it completed to San Fran but even if they did, why in the word would I take a train that will easily take 2, 3 or 4 times as long to get there as a plane ride, which takes an hour and since a plane ride cost between $200 and $400 roundtrip, the train needs to charge at least $200 or more to be profitable. So if they charge that, no one uses it because the plane is a better quicker option. If they dont charge that, then they plan on letting us tax payers pick up the tab. Why in the hell does this state keep electing the same stupid people that bury us year after year. Sorry....wrong forum...I get easily excited about our worthless Govt.
