Very interesting as I have been looking for a 997 for sometime and I came across a really nice triple black 2006 997 carrera s with only 14.5k miles. Wondering how many of these really low mileage examples are on this board.
With that being said, I saw a very nice blue 997 with 4-5k on autotrader a few weeks ago but its now sold, I think it was an 05 or 06. In a way its nice to have the option of buying a low mileage car, but these cars need to be driven more than that imo.
I'm pushing 65k, so others will have to chime in on low mileage. Good luck with your search!
I bought my '06 C2S a few months back with 9500 miles on the odometer. I've put a little over 1,000 miles on it so far and I'm loving it. It's too bad the previous owner didn't get to enjoy it but I'm glad they kept it fresh for me
Well...I bought my 2006 S last October with 6600 miles. This weekend I made it to 10,000 miles (15,999 Kms showing on the Speedo):
During my first year with this 997 I expect to accumulate the same number of miles the previous owner drove over 8 years of ownership. And if I had not spent at least 6 weeks dealing with mods and minor details I would likely exceed his total miles.
No mechanical issues to report on this low mileage 997 and I drive it hard when the opportunity presents itself. We did about 150 highway/mountain road miles last weekend at a good clip and a track day is coming up the 15th. I've also added an X51 kit at the local dealer.
The only issues to date were cosmetic and simple (wasted radio and A/C *****, deteriorated "soft paint", clogged sunroof vent and AC vent, deteriorated foam spewing from the AC vents initially, brakes required bleeding, serpentine and pulley, spark plug and oil and filter replacements for peace of mind).
Other threads mention low mileage cars with history in cold climates tend to have more issues... this one was delivered straight to the tropics from the factory and has been here ever since.
Bought my 2010 C4S with PDK last September with 35K. I will cross 59K this weekend.
I fully believe the miles help these cars, but it's not just the miles that count ... Italian tune up!!! Mine continues to run better as the miles build.
I change oil every 5K miles (with full inspections). No oil additions between changes. Oil comes out clean, and the same quantity that I put in! The magnetic drain plug remains bare.
FWIW, I empty the Walmart oil shelf when I'm there, and buy my filters in multiples (the parts guy gives me wholesale pricing this way).
Drive and enjoy! Do ... not ... worry ... about ... the ... lowest ... mileage. IMHO, worry if the mileage is low.

Bought my 2010 C4S about 3 weeks ago, and had to travel right after it was delivered so I haven't put many more miles on her. 16,040 miles on the clock... I fully intend to increase that number. But only on nice weekends
