Replacement windshield So CA
#16
My recently purchased '07 had quite a bit of wiper/sand scratches as well as minor pitting. I was able to remove most of the scratches using Ceriglass but not all and the pitting is still there (to be expected). I was thinking about throwing in the towel and replacing the glass but would probably only want OEM glass and figure it would be ~$800-$1000 all-in.
So, I am going to try to hit the windshield again with Ceriglass to get it to my liking before doing a replacement. But its good to know you found a good installer -- I work in Irvine so having it done out here is helpful.

Yes, mind did. There are also 4 wired connections that I saw. They need to hook all of them up. Like I said, they did a great job.

I believe I read somewhere here about a guy who replaced his windshield with non OEM...and lost his navigation system. This might be the result of sloppy aftermarket installation...or the aftermarket glass not interfacing with the electronics...or....?

Replacement windshield So CA
Posted in another thread but this is the result with a new windscreen at Porsche Center Warszawa.
Looks (probably) like when it left the factory with seals etc.
Roughly 1200 dollars. Full documentation for the insurance company etc.

This is making me want to redo my windshield... the current windshield I have was a replacement done by a previous owner, and it looks like it isn't seated down far enough, leaving a huge gap between the inside surface of the glass and the A pillars. I can see globs of silicone sealant and weatherstripping in this gap of about 1/4-1/2".
Anyone else have this huge gap in their replacement windshields???

My replacement windshield had 4 wired connection points on it.
The installers knew each step very well.
