y 997 is one of the ones with the number stamping under the hood crest, and the RUF hood logo didn't completely cover it, which I wasn't crazy about, but found a guy with a RUF hood crest and had him custom finish one for my R-Kompressor. I went with the silver base metal, RUF green and the GT silver color of my car for the logo in the checkered flag motif, and black for the other graphics - lions and Pfaffenhausen (where RUF is based out of). It's also a completely filled crest so although the recessed area with the textured metal looks open the whole surface of the crest is smooth.

Really happy with the result.

hey man, sorry for the thread revival... how the hell did you get that badge to fit! Did you bend yours at all? Mine is dead flat like the oem one but didn’t fit right.

Yes, the OEM badge is actually curved and the RUF badge is straight instead. I actually found some thin foam adhesive tape, stuck it to the rear border of the crest, and then cut it to perfectly fit the edge of the crest, not reusing the OEM rubber gasket. The foam let's the center pull down tighter and the top and bottom edges are more expanded, to still make a good seal so there aren't any gaps and it looks good. Here are some edge shots.

I thought I was going crazy! My car has the numbers imprinted into the hood along with a hood crest outline. The ruf badge covers it well but up close you can see it’s there. I have the badge you have also but it was driving me nuts. Thanks for the advice!

My son & I took the RUF to the Petit le Mans race at Road Atlanta this past Friday & Saturday. Superb weather, an excellent race with the right result (911 winning GTLM), and a lot of fun !

In front of 911 number 911

Yours too - a 911 winning is a win for all of us

Beat the BMWs, Ford GTs, Corvettes, Ferraris, Audis, Lambos, etc We knew it was the best - just have to prove it every now and again.
