so i'm about to purchase a 3/36 extended warranty on my 2007 911 Turbo...my current coverage is about to exprie. Price is $3300-3400 for Gold Plus. My car has 36,500 miles.

Curious anyone's thoughts on this price and coverage. Seems like a pretty good deal.

If the car continues at 4000 miles/year I think $3400 for 12,000 miles is a lot to pay.

I got it with 20k miles on it 2 years ago. So I avg 8k a year. i'll likely drive it more than that going forward. Maybe 10k/year

I got the following quote for my 2012 911 Cabriolet S (6700 miles and existing warranty good through 8/20/16). BTW, I'm getting the 6 yr/60k $0 deductible warranty. I'm still undecided about the Wheel and Tire Road Hazard Warranty. Here’s all the basic info and quotes:

Vehicle: 2012 - 2017 Porsche 911 with less than 10,000 miles.

Fidelity Platinum Protection Plan:

With $0 deductible:
5 yr / 60K - $2101.00
6 yr / 60K - $2291.00
7 yr / 70K - $2869.00
7 yr / 100K - $4614.00

With $100 deductible:
5 yr / 60K - $1973.00
6 yr / 60K - $2158.00
7 yr / 70K - $2581.00
7 yr / 100K - $3750.00

With $250 deductible:
5 yr / 60K - $1637.00
6 yr / 60K - $1825.00
7 yr / 70K - $2228.00
7 yr / 100K - $3358.00

The deluxe 5 year unlimited mileage road hazard wheel/tire plan would run
$1141.00, and the standard plan would be $635.00.

Here is the basic purchase info if / when you decide to purchase.

I would need you to mail, fax, or scan/email me an original signed letter
indicating the exact current mileage on your vehicle, and a copy of your
current registration.(If you are in a state where you don't get your state
registration right away, I can also use a copy of the bill of sale, purchase
contract, or some other official document which shows the owners name
and address, along with the vehicles VIN)

Sorry, I know its a little inconvenient, but its the only way we could come
up to cover ourselves on the mileage and VIN verification. After I receive
your letter, I can call you for credit card info, if that's how you choose
to pay, or you can include a check, money order, or the credit card info
with it. Also, make sure that the registration copy is legible (I have
gotten a couple of them recently that I couldn't read or had part of the VIN
chopped off on the copy).

Thanks guys for all the info on Fidelity. I searched and didn't find an answer to my question, so I'm going to ask. Does the Fidelity Platinum cover the PDK replacement if it fails? And do all Porsche dealerships honor the warranty? Or do I need to call Fidelity to find out if my local dealer is part of the network? Thanks!

PDK should be covered under the basic power train plan. But I would speak with Fidelity to confirm.

Dealerships don't honor warranties, the warranty is between the consumer and Fidelity. Dealerships just want to get paid. So doesn't matter where you go to get the car fixed. Fidelity covers the fixes that you get charged from the dealer or repair shop

Thanks Ibanezgod!

I submitted an online quote request with Troy, since he has many recommendations on this board. Unfortunately, my 2009's too old for him to warranty. He said he can only sell the Fidelity plans online on vehicles that are still within the original 4 yr / 50,000 mile factory warranty.

I did the same...and he told me the same as well

Although it seems other fidelity dealers can sell it.
I have quotes coming in from fidelity (through a chevy dealer no less)
CNA--from a BMW dealer
easycare (?) online

All exclusionary policies...still researching the details.

I'd be curious to see what sort of quotes you get, if you don't mind sharing. It'd give me a ballpark idea of what to expect. Thanks!

I called Circle Porsche today and found out that Christine Takla is no longer with them, but I still got a quote. Here's what they quoted for my 2009 C4S with 55K miles, with a $250 deductible:

Platinum 5yr/60K miles: $9,099
Platinum 4yr/60K: $8,251 (I wrote down 60K but that can't be right)

Gold Plus 5yr/60K: $6,764 (covers all electrical except Nav)

Powertrain 5yr/60K: $3,405 (confirmed this covers the PDK)

Thoughts?

That's seem way excessive in my opinion. Also surprised Christine is gone. I was trading emails with her as late as this past Monday

Absolute ripoff. Check with your local credit union for warranty options. I got mine for half of that with more miles and years.

Must be a dealer specific thing. I just paid a local chevy dealer $3400 for 2 years/24K.

Platinum, $250 deductible.
I have a 2009 CS convertible with 53K.

Might be high, but peace of mind I guess, and I have always gotten my moneys worth when I have bought these things. Even on the Lexus vehicles, over 2-3 years, with roughly the same mileage I have at least broken even.
