Default Loud bang

Hi,
I have a 2005 base 911. No bose stereo. If I turn the radio up in volume a loud bang comes thru the speakers. Sometimes it bangs for no reason at all with the radio on low. I thought perhaps the subwoofer was bad, but everyone I speak to disagrees.
Has anyone else had this happen, What do you guys think this is?
Thanks for you feedback, I'd like to fix it.

I'd put money on a faulty amplifier. Have an indy take a multimeter to it.

Sounds like a loose /broken connection in the electronics or the wiring. Intermittent short or the like. Could be in the radio or the speaker connections. Does it happen using cd player? You could r/o the radio. The amp is common to both. That would be important in tracking it down. If you can disconnect the sub you can at least r/o whether the problem is in that external circuit. Try checking the connections to the other speakers looking for one loose or broken. Not going to be a party. Failing that I'd think you need someone with electrical equipment and savvy to track it down. Electrical problems: ugh

My 07 997 did something like that.
The amp electrical plug was not plugged in all the way.
I clicked it in and no issue since.

Makes sense. Short would blow fuse at some point.

Try sending PM to guy who posted this. I have a feeling though that if you don't know you shouldn't try messing with electrical stuff. Take car to installation pro or the like.

I find that a loud bang for no particular reason can be a real stress reliever.
