Default Audible alerts stopped?

In my new to me 2006 Cabriolet, the audible alerts have stopped.
No alert for stopping car with headlights on and exiting. No open door chime.
Does anyone know if this is a feature that is able to be disabled? Wondering what I have done, as when I first got the car they were definitely audible.

Are your interior lights still working?

Yes they are, and the navigation voice is so low I can barely hear it over radio.
If I turn radio off, no navigation voice.

As far as the Nav goes, there is a separate volume setting for it on the PCM. I no longer have that version of the PCM, but it would should be one of the option settings available under the Navigation screen. If this is a new behavior, maybe it is one of the options tied to individual key memory and the prior owner using that key didn't like to hear the nav voice (my wife doesn't). Did you recently switch keys?

I guess its possible that there is a similar key-dependent setting for chimes but I don't recall one.

I got the navigation voice level set now. But still no warnings on open door, light on, etc. My battery was replaced last month and on another occasion the starter was replaced. Does the lack of power wipe out some settings that need to be set via computer? Maybe the computer needs to be told to alert audibly?

Now I know what is going on. The thread
https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...etric-q-s.html

Shows that audible alerts are turned on and off via Durametric.
Acoustic belt warning:
Acoustic key warning:
Acoustic light warning:
Acoutic speed warning:

All can be turned on/off with durametic.

Trip to dealer is coming soon.

When I first bought the 997, I had a battery drain problem along with a bad starter. The audible alerts were working. The result was a tow trip and on another occasion a battery jump. The battery died three times, new battery installed, new starter installed, vampire Parrot device identified as drain and removed. Well..... All those problems are solved and she seems solid now. I took a one week vacation to Panama City Beach Florida last week. When I came back, the first thing I did was fire up the 997 and take her for a spin. It had sat idle for 7 days. Well, what do you know! Alarm chimes when seat belt is not fastened and chimes when headlights are on and car off with door open. It seems to have healed during the one idle week. I feel pretty certain no one turned them off after purchase, they were working when I brought it home new.
Gremlins...
Should I be worried?
Could the multiple losses of power somehow have turned these off?
With a constant source of power now, they somehow detect this and turn on?
I was going to take it to the Stealership and have them turn on the alerts.
Sure not going there now.
