Dealer screwed up my car coding, lots of durametric Q's
Hi Folks
Right, this will be a long thread!
So, my car was in the dealer for other things and asked them to code the window comfort opening/closing etc with the key. They said it couldn't be done (but tried). Well, I got the car back and noticed that all sorts of things weren't working. Chrono function was just GONE, cruise control no dash light but working, radio display in OBC GONE, headlights not dipping and coming back up when switched on - all sorts of stuff.
I now have a Durametric Pro and found they have screwed up all the coding, and am trying to put it straight. (I don't trust them to do it). I have got chrono and most things above back functioning, but there are a lot of coding options that may have been changed and I need to see what other people have got coded to put it right. Lots of Q's for you all.
When reading the below, keep in mind my car is:
2005 C2S with aerokit. RHD. Manual. Bose (with 6 disk changer in frunk), NO NAV!!. Sports Chrono. Cruise. Switchable factory exhaust, PASM, Seat heating (Adaptive sport seats) with mem, Multifunction steering wheel, Park assist, Phone module with PCM (NO handset). Fabspeed 200 cell sport cats, EVOMS CAI. NO tyre pressure option.
1) the durametric auto configures my car as a GT3 - odd but I see others have this issue. If I leave it like this I have some extra modules in the list that do not appear with the "correct" configuration. They are BOSE, MULTIMEDIA INTERFACE, PCM GATEWAY (AND the normal "Gateway"). All these "extra" modules respond with information and can be "seen". Of course this GT3 config is also minus a lot of other things like SUSPENSION, TARGA ROOF, ETC. (I guess things that never came with GT3).
2) My car seems to have corrupted ignition range values. Impossible as current hours below ignition range hours.
3) Some issue with the cats? No codes are thrown by the computer. Edited : Found out these are all pass when the engine is running.
4) Unclearable codes from engine module and instrument cluster.
5) the left door and right door modules operate the opposite door!!! weird.
6) There are many, many coding options in both the Instrument cluster and the Gateway. No documentation for what they all are/do.
I would really, really, really appreciate it if people with similar options could do screen shots and make a word doc or PDF file with their own coding options and email to me (PM for address)
Here are mine: (remember - many of these may be incorrect. Please point them out if you think so).

Take it back and give them a second chance.

They've already had 3 chances. I just need to see other car's coding options to try and get a feel for it. The dealer has turned out to be incompetent here in NZ. Same feedback from others.

If there was only a location that you could go to, that new everything about your car. Someone should invent that place. We could call it CarMeca !

I at least managed to get the window comfort closing/opening working! Only had to turn active the "comfort window closing" (on both left and right modules) and it all works. Plus the other items in the alarm module of course. Still can't get the sunroof to respond in kind.

PhilD - please be sure to post your comparison settings here for reference to others. I have similar instrument cluster errors that won't clear but everything seems to function fine. I also have access to Durametric Pro to make coding changes if needed

Would you be able to post/send me your coding as well?

Here's my instrument cluster and gateway coding, which seem to be the main ones used for changing things and certainly the ones with the least amount of documentation about them.
The only error messages I now have are due to the aftermarket LED front lights and the LED bulb in the luggage compartment.
I have a 2005 C2 MT with Sport Chrono. No CD Changer and no Tel Module, but I've changed these settings for the Dension module.
As a side note I can answer and end calls with the steering wheel stalk, after I activated the phone in the instrument cluster and gateway, but although I can browse the phone book I can't make calls with the steering wheel stalk.

My WAG is you should consider having the car's DME image reflashed to ensure it is intact and the correct image for the car.
Then have the comfort (Komfort) settings you desire (re)applied.
This should be rather straightforward and with no drama.
If any issues arise this could be a sign that somehow the DME or one of the other controllers were damaged when the car was at the dealer.
If you go in with Durametric you risk muddying the situate and the dealer could blame you and the Durametric for anything wrong.
