Default DME scan advice

Hi - Any concerns w/ the following scan:

Total operating hours: 1114

Range 1: # of ignitions 13,072 1105.3h
Range 2: # of ignitions 3,257 1061.8h
Range 3: # of ignitions 901 1050.5h
Range 4: # of ignitions 107 790.9h

Are Range 4 ignitions a concern even though the last one was over 400hrs ago? does it matter when it happened or not?

Thanks!

Probably OK - time does matter. Last range 4 occurred at hour 791 or almost 10,000 miles ago. Ranges 1, 2 and 3 not so worrisome.

Looks very similar to mine. I have 81 ignitions in range 4 over 20,000 miles ago. No problems.

CPO warranty? If so, Porsche may not honor with range 4. And that's a lot of range 1 indicating prior owner liked to bounce off the rev limiter.

Looks like it saw some track time, maybe a slight money shift but a long time ago so probably okay. If it's CPO'd and in good condition otherwise, I wouldn't let it hold you back too much. Porsche will CPO a car with higher range ignitions now if they occurred more than 200 operating hours ago but they may request a compression and leak-down test.

It's not for sale at Porsche dealer, but the reviews for this dealer (birmingham broker) are pretty/very favorable. He said he will include a 36/36 power train plus warranty. It includes engine, automatic transmission, standard transmission, drive axle assembly, seals and gaskets and the plus includes cooling, electrical, 24-hr roadsde assistance and rental car allowance.

While this DME readout is not necessarily egregious, I would not buy this car because it has apparently been "beat on" quite a bit. Just my oponion

I agree, but only because I am very cautious. I purchased a 2009 C2S with 26K miles on it and it had zero over revs with only the tiniest in Range 1. They are out there.

I checked my over revs last night now with 79K miles and while my Range 1 increased significantly, there were still 0s in the other range.

Peace

I think $73k is a little high.

I got a PPI done on a 2007 Turbo Slate/Terracota back in 02/15.

12k miles
Manual Transmission
PCCB
Asking price was $82k

range 1: 227 160.6h
range 2: 3 119.6h
range 3 and above: zero over revs

Rock bottom price was $78k + tax. I couldn't agree in price with seller and I passed it.

Be patience, do your homework and you will find a good one for the right price.

So wait, $78k is too high, AND $73k is too high? I think it's fair, especially if the OP hasn't haggled yet.

I believe my post provides relevant and solid information TO THE OP, which was my only intention.

Well that'll be up to you to decide if that warranty is worth anything to you. You should find out who the coverage is provided by (I'm assuming its a 3rd party warranty by a company) so you can do some research on them. If it was just that single dealer providing the warranty only at that specific place, I'd consider that pretty much worthless.

DME doesn't scare me in the least. Range 4 happened a while ago.

As for the price it's within the normal range that the car would be listed for.

Range 5 and 6 are the more problematic ones but even then it depends on the context.
