What wheel cleaning products do you use on your 997?
As you all know our cars produce a copious amount of brake dust. I'm curious but what wheel cleaning products do you all use on your 997's? My Targa 4 has turbo wheels and it's so hard to keep them clean! I usually clean them using left over soap from the wash but these days there's too much brake dust to clean off that way!

I use a horse hair brush from Adam's Polishes. I also use the Turbo Stick from Adam's Polishes. I don't like using harsh chemicals because it damages the finish on my calipers.

I first spray the wheels with Meguiars Hot Wheel cleaner then clean the insides of the wheels with the help of an acrylic algae scraper (http://www.marinedepot.com/Aquarium_...MTASLH-vi.html ) then wash the spokes and rims of the wheel with dawn dish soap and a soft grout sponge.

I use P21s. Works great but the sprayer it comes with is terrible. Buy a "real" spray bottle from a detail supply or even Home Depot - it's expensive but it works really well.

Simoniz Heavy Duty Rim Cleaner.
Spray on before washing the car and by the time you're done with the rest of the car, rinse off and wipe down. Brake dust is one of the many reasons I went with black rims, does not show as much as it did on silver rims.

I use sonax and then I use wheel wax. The wheel wax only lasts 2 washes because of the Sonax, but it makes that in between one so nice and easy

When I have water available (we now live in a condo and only have an outside faucet when the sprinklers are operational, mid May - mid September), I just use the same Griots car wash I wash the car with, and a sheepskin finger mitt. The rest of the time, I use Griots Speed Shine and a paper towel. My five spoke Carrera Classic wheels are pretty easy to clean.

No harsh wheel cleaners if possible. Wash it frequently (once a week?) with whatever car shampoo you use, and it should be good. Wheel cleaners will affect the finish on some wheel surfaces. I work at a car dealership, the man in charge of our detail shop uses wheel cleaner all day long. Well, it's easy for his job. But he NEVER uses it on his own car! Also, watch out for windy days when the wheel cleaner gets oversprayed onto side mirrors, or body paint.

Is sonax the stuff the turns red? I like that one. Currently using P21S though. I guess it works if you use it often enough.
I think you have to wax/seal wheels and clean them often. No two ways about it. Some wheels are a PITA.
