66 and others. Are you all using a spray on wheel wax?

If I just want to quick clean the alloy wheels on my daughter's Mini, or some of our other cars, I use Sonax too. Gets almost all the dust off. But when I do my Porsche or other cars, I use my hands and the same car wash soap. By the way, I have found the car wash soaps that also have some wax in them to leave a hazy wax film on the car's glass, which is hard to get off. So I only use wash now, nothing with a "wax" in it. I sometimes use Wheel Wax on the rims, it does make most dust wash off easily. For the inner barrels, i have an assortment of sponges and the Griot's angled foam brush. By the way, I ordered form Griot's first catalogue 2+ decades ago, and have a customer number so low, #672, that when I order stuff, which I do all the time, i have a lot of the FACOM tools he used to carry, that the guy taking my order can't recall any number so low. I have had pictures of four of my cars over the years in his catalogue.

Auto Geek also is a great source for high end finishing tools and waxes and such. I prefer to use Auto Geek's polymer protectants, rather than waxes, the polymers give a very slick, protective, long lasting finish. As for wheels, sometimes you just have to sit down on a stool, and do it by hand.

I just use Griot's Waterless Spray on Car wash and a microfiber towel. I do have a few semi-specialized brushes that I use based on some of the Drive Clean/Ammo NYC vids.

I clean my wheels more often than I wash the car. While cleaning the wheels in the garage, between washes, gentle cleaners that don't require rinsing are key. In this scenario, I use Poorboy's Spray & Wipe. I clean the barrels with just old t-shirts or cheap hand towels, nothing fancy. I wax them with Collinite 845.

During a bucket-and-hose wash, any non-acidic wheel cleaner is fine, with a dedicated mitt, bucket, and brush.

is PH neutral (sanctioned by BBS) and causes zero harm. I have been using it for years and no issues at all. Works well.

There is an armoral all wheel wax that is in a can available at all stores. I have used that in the past and it works well. http://www.walmart.com/ip/16641226?w...277472&veh=sem


Now since i have painted black wheels I take my time and use Adams Paint Sealant on them.

Any electric one will work, gas ones are too strong. Makes drying a lot faster, I think I got a toro, it was about $35.
