Although I'm still using the original clear (now slightly yellow) stone guards, when I installed my RUF rear bumper, I applied and custom cut a strip of thick carbon fiber vinyl on the inner bumper area behind the rear wheel to prevent the paint blasting that usually happens there. Virtually unnoticeable in the dark wheel well unless looking for it and has protected my bumper paint nicely. I've attached a couple pics, but to me all they really do is confirm that it's "virtually unnoticeable" - I can go shoot a couple with a flash that might highlight them better than these existing photos I had, if anyone is interested.

Looks like MagnaGrafik - the carbon fiber look is $75 - they have a website. I think I like the flat black best.

Managrafik's on the 997.

It is advisable to remove them every couple of drives to clean the dirt that gets caught around the edges and wash off the dirt that gets on the stone guards.

They've never come off while driving.

Yes, MagnaGrafix is the source...took about two weeks and he only has the Matt finish on CF according to his brochure.

Were you every able to grab a pic of the black stone guard on your atlas 997 @little green?
