I'm confused... I would expect this to be closer to 40-43 at least?

Guy in Toronto just bought a beautiful 05 997 with 60K miles on it with a 10K motor for $28.8 USD. That is well into 996 territory, doesn't appear the 997's are holding their value any more than the 996's!! That means 991's should be cheap in the near future!!

Check to see if the car fax is clean. The reason some of these are low is because they might have multiple owners, frame damage or it might look clean on line but in person it might look really worn. I always say if its to good to be true it usually is. I shopped around for 6 months before getting my 997 and a lot of dealerships don't take pictures of the right things; radio/temp controls, steering wheel, and up close pictures of the wheels. Also with many of these used car deals make sure there are clear records of service history, that is vitally important. I personally would go only for CPO from a reputable Porsche dealership, in return you will know that the car is up to date on its service and will sleep better at night. Good luck.

Too good to be true always is.

Never use one-off sales without knowing the history to try and divine a market value. Easiest way to test the market... try offering one of those prices to an owner and see if they will budge.

As for the OP's listing... that doesn't seem off for a 50k mileage, base .1 carrera. I looked at similar cars about 1.5 years ago, similar pricing. Condition obviously matters, a lot. Not sure how much in service records? On Carfax says 3?

if you want it, check the nada prices, take it to a porsche dealer and have a complete cpo inspection and get the history from them

Big difference in some cars-

I looked at 2010 C4s with 27k miles on it a few weeks ago- selling at a local dealer for 57k

I though that was pretty cheap, but in person the car wasn't nearly as clean as my 08, seemed to have some paintwork, had been driven through tar and was coated in the stuff....All that works to lower prices

There is a CPO 2011 GTS, well optioned, at a porsche dealer for 67k, so prices have come down a lot across the board. But they will really drop if the stock market falls a lot.

I just picked up my 07 S with nav, sport exhaust for a couple grand more. On that autotrader link (OP), did you see the aftermarket LED strips probably elmers glued to the front bumper. It has red brakes, was that an option or are those S brakes?

Average GTS 997 price I'm seeing is about $82k.

Prices haven't really budged at all over the last 6 months, and in some cases have gone up a bit in cars I'm tracking. Mileage will be main determinant of value for the next few years.

That one from Toronto is definitely a nice car. It has full service history, along with a new clutch recently. I went to check it out myself before I bought my car.

Just a word of caution comparing Canadian prices to US prices... With the recent plummet of the CAD dollar (or quick rise of the USD dollar) the car prices in Canada have not adjusted yet. So, there are deals to be had up here when comparing to US car prices.

For example, I got my manual 08 C4s with about 65k miles on it, preferred color, respectable dealership, full history, one owner, clean carfax, loaded with options, fully certified and flawless PPI for $39k USD.

The very cheapest 08 C4s in the entire US is $43k USD, and that is a Private Sale on a car with reported accidents.

I predict the car prices in Canada are going to go up to match the US eventually, if the CAD dollar stays low (which it looks like it is going to). So, Canadians should take advantage of the low prices while they can. They wont last forever.

Two months ago I paid $33K in California for almost the same exact car, same year, silver, 59,000 miles with Sport Chrono package.

Check carfax. Sounds too good to be true, must have had an accident.

You can't just use one example of an '05 car with a blown engine to draw conclusions to prices of the whole 997 range.
