Default New Email Group for Porsche 997 Owners

Hoping to connect Porsche 997 owners through a Yahoo Groups email list where we can exchange information, events, drives, advice, etc.

I belong to a 993 Yahoo Group that is very active, so hoping to do the same with 997 owners.

If interested, you can check it out at this link:
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Porsche997/info

Hope to connect with you soon.

Why would someone join the email group as opposed to a forum like this one? at least by joining a forum like this one, nobody has to know your email address and it reaches out to many more people.

No, you do not have to be a Yahoo! person. Just go the page and join the group. I am making sure that we are limited to 997 owners, or prospective owners with a genuine interest in 997's.

The difference between the Yahoo group and a forum is that we can communicate with and reach out to each other directly. It is different than posting in a forum and hoping that people log in and read the post.

People in the 993 group plan rides/events, share tools/garages, etc. It is a much friendlier environment than a general forum. Hope you decide to join us.

You aware we have a Bay Area RL Group? Not nearly as active as it used to be, but still active.

Hey, Joe. No, I'm not aware of the Bay Area RL Group. What are the details? Thanks for hooking up in the 997 group. The more the merrier!

Am I missing something?

+ 1. And I keep getting parental controls, I am too young, and I get kicked out. Must be user error on my part ... But frustrating.

Dan, could be. Been so long that I signed up, don't recall. No worries if you don't want such an acvount, if/when drives are posted there, I'll make sure to send you (David and Ronan) an email.

You do not need a Yahoo account to join. Anyone interested, but without a Yahoo account, just send an email to porsche997-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. You will receive an email back asking you to confirm your desire to join the group. It will come to me for approval, and I will be screening applicants so that we don't get any spammers. You can also PM me if any problems. Thanks!

You can simply join the restricted email group my sending me an email for approval:
porsche997-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
Just include a short message stating your 997 ownership status as I am screening applicants to prevent spam.
