That is a terrific looking GTS. I love the wing and would seriously consider adding one to any GTS i get. I think it squares off the disproportionately large rear on the 997. Something they fixed a bit with the wider wheel base on the 991. One from the south would be great but just haven't seen many in the past 6 months or so and I'm looking to pull the trigger in the next month. Great car you have there though. Any more pics?

The car rocks! I did the sharkwerks xpipe and now it sounds as good as it looks. I just picked up a set of black 997 GT3 RS wheels and tires. They have a little more aggressive offset so they should fill it out really nice. Going to have the car aligned and have the camber maxed out in the front. Should help the turn in. I think I'm going to upgrade to an aftermarket shifter as well. Have a local indy that's a certified P mechanic and has worked on a Cup team. Great resource.

nwGTS, don't put a timetable on the purchase...be patient! It might take a while but you will kick yourself if you pull the trigger on the wrong car. I almost did! I saw a white manual GTS with the aero kit on it with low miles for a good price. May have been on autotrader.

Conshohocken Porsche is respected in these parts. I use Porsche of the Main Line as it's only 7 miles from my house. That being said the car is beautiful and certainly worth a serious look at. I could swing by Saturday to check it out if you need eyeballs on it. I would ask for a DME report before going any further. FWIW I would think most pcar owners up in our neck of the woods have a second car when it snows. Not because of the car but because I don't want a moron hitting my car. I can certainly have a thorough look underneath the car as well to see if there is anything obvious.

Is that an OEM aerokit? Does the factory aerokit comprise just the rear wing or is there a complementing front splitter or else that goes with it? Any idea of after market cost (painted and installed) to replicate?

The OEM aerokit comprises both the front splitter and rear wing. Porsche designs them to work in conjunction with one and other. I believe that Porsche recommends both a front and rear as with only a rear wing, they claim, the car will become unstable at higher speeds (I'd guess 135 or so mph).

UT911GTS, gorgeous car. Is that meteor gray? Have an 07s in that color and debating a 2013 991s or 2012 GTS. Prices are pretty close. Mind sharing what you paid via PM. Thanks

I'm in a similar boat to you. Seems like the GTS prices are going up while the 991 S prices are trending downwards. I've driven both and it's a hard choice. Do you want the raw-ness of the GTS or the refinement of the 991? First world problems.

Default 997 GTS 2 vs 4 on track

As I view the field of available cars, I had really focussed on just the C2 variant of the 997 GTS since it won't be driven when there's much snow on the ground and I expect to do 2-3 lapping days per year. But before I dismiss the C4 solely because of the effect of extra 270lbs, I would be interested to hear from anyone's direct experience in tracking the C2 vs C4 versions. i.e both weight and AWD effects on the track experience. Thanks

PM with details if you decide to sell your GTS may be interested. Really enjoying my 2010 S but have been having some strong pull to upgrade to a GTS

Cheers

A 2wd GTS is just fine in the snow. I use mine as a DD all year round, and while the lower spoiler on the Aerokit Cup nose takes a bit of a beating from the snow, it's easy/cheap to replace.

Great looking GTS. Is that the also Aerokit Cup spoiler in your avatar?
