Autohausaz's prices look pretty good, since you guys mentioned it. Their pads are Textar. Who makes Porsche pads?

Partsgeek's prices look good, too.

Porsche pads are made by Pagid (under the Textar label), Brembo and now PFC (GT3 & Cup)

The OEM pads that I purchased from Suncoast for my 997.2 have Textar printed on them, confirming the above post.

I was halfway through my AutohausAZ order when I realized that they don't have the front rotors, dang it. Going to have to try again.

Are you getting the Sebro cross drilled or slotted rotors from Autohaus?

How many brakes sensors are on a 997.2?

Is it 2 in the front and 1 in the rear? Autohaus shows parts for right front and left front.

My previous experienece with multiple BMW's are 1 in front and 1 in rear.

4 total; 2 in front and 2 in rear (ie each wheel).

Gotgolf52, thanks, I PM'd back. You got me just in time--I was logging on to check this thread and was going to order the stuff today.

3series, I am going with OEM drilled rotors. AutohausAZ does not have them for the front.

I was on Partsgeek's website yesterday and see that they carry what they call OEM rotors but no brand name is listed. Gawd, this is a pain in the neck. I wish people spent just a little more time and effort on their websites.

When I did the front rotors, pads, and sensors on my wife's car, I got a very good deal on some dba slotted 2-piece rotors. No need to paint the aluminum hats, they're lighter, and the next time, I'll just buy the replacement discs and not the complete rotor. They came from www.topbrakes.com and are $499 for the front pair (997.1 C2S fitment). They also have temperature paint lines on them so you can see how hot they're getting if you'll be doing any track or spirited mountain work. Drilled rotors are not as stable as slotted rotors although they do have a slight benefit in the rain. I always use Hawk pads. It's a nice setup for her and she's been running them for almost a year (12,000 miles) - rotors are holding up great. She painted the calipers while we had everything apart too.

Here's the link - http://topbrakes.com/c/car-items/440...nufacturer_id=

For your fitment, it doesn't look like they make the 5000 series 2-piece slotted rotor, just the 1-piece slotted version. Because the 5000s are on special they're actually less expensive than the 4000s, which are $579.

Here's the link for your '09 C2 - http://topbrakes.com/c/car-series/22...arrera+2+997-2

I agree with the others on sensors - they're tough to remove without breaking - have new ones on hand before you start the job. Might also want to have the adhesive pad dampeners that adhere to the pad and attach into the caliper pistons to make sure the new brakes don't squeek when you're done.

They might make more sense if you see the rest of the car. Pink pearl with Vorsteiner F&R Bumpers, Active Aero TT rear decklid.

Mine is the GT Silver RUF R-Kompressor one - it has PCCBs, which are great.

Let us know how the brake job turns out and post some pics.

Gotgolf52, where are you, man? I've sent two emails and one PM. I'd like to get this wrapped up pretty soon and I'm interested.
