Adaptive Sport Seats have shoulder support "wings" built into the back and usually have hard dark grey or body color painted backs (there is an option to have these covered in leather, but it's very rare). There are manual versions of these seats and power versions - the backrest recline feature is always power.

There is another iteration of the Adaptive Sport Seats, called Adaptive Sport Seat Plus versions which are full power and have inflatable side bolsters for both the lower and upper seat sections. You can tell these since they have two small silver switches on the front outside corners.
Based on this description I have the Adaptive Sport Seat Plus and they are very comfortable as long as I take my wallet out of my back pocket

Has anyone with the adaptive sport seats been on long trips in them? If so, how far and how did they perform? I'm really thinking seriously about getting some if I can find them in Luxor beige, previously owned that is.

Thanks to everyone for chiming in!

That's a good test. Are yours the 18 way fully automatic ones? I've always liked the way they look too!

2007 C4S with basic seats. Yeah, they are horribly uncomfortable for me. Plan is to have 1/2 inch of high density foam installed in the center portion of the seat back by Timberline Upholstery here in Co Springs. They cut a piece of inch thick high density foam for me to try and that was too thick. A 1/2 inch or so permantly installed should do the trick so my back - and not just the sides of my back - rest against the seat. I'll report back after that's been accomplished.

I have drivwn my 997 and my 928s with 997 adaptive sport seats on many long trips - SC to: Pittsburgh, WI, FL, TN, KY, OH, VA, etc.and they're fantastic...it's why I've installed them into all my cars.

Someone alao asked where the bolster adjustment buttons are for the 18-way adaptive sport seat plus versions.

Since someone else already revived this thread, are the adaptive sport seats with the bolsters plug and play if you swap them for the standard power seats? Or is there additional wiring required?

If the car has full power comfort seats and memory (buttons on the driver's door) and the sport seats you're buying are also full power with memory, then yes, it's plug and play. I did exactly that in my C2S.

Perfect. Just what I was hoping for. Is there any way to tell if the used sport seats I’m loooking at are heated as my standard seats are? Or were they all heated?

If they're heated, the yellow female connector under the seat will have metal male terminals in slots 8 & 13. If they're not heated, the numbers will be there but there won't be metal contacts in the slots.
