Your least expensive option is going to be to get a new wheel that reuses your triangular airbag. Many people (me included) prefer the look of the triangular airbag since it doesn't have the plastic or silver spokes of the round airbag wheels. Here are a few pics of mine from DCT Carbon using their CF & Perforated leather that I replaced my OEM CF & Black Leather wheel (same as the one in your photo) with. If you're trying to get away from the CF, there are also all leather or alcantara options too.

In case anyone is considering getting a 2009 MT 997.2 round airbag sport steering wheel for their MT 997.1, I can confirm this works without any issues. I just had the swap done today on my late '06 997S.

Default hmmm, i have done this also...but, no horn,

it seems the old wheel had the wire tape(?) on the airbag with the 2 wires for the horn going in but with separate leads, the new airbag has the 2 horn wires plugged into the bracket on back of the airbag with no separation, they go into a single lead...whats up with that...? i am now thinking i need a piwis intervention...?

My 2006 C2S has a round airbag and the horn is sounded by pushing on the center/airbag area. There are no separate buttons. Not a fan of the triangular airbag so I must be an outlier based on what Petza posted. Yes, the silver accents around the round airbag do look a bit cheesy but the tri-bag looks 80s to me.

New wheel update requires same shape Airbag. So in my triangle wheel 06 I'm getting BOTH bag and .2 club wheel update no tippy, 6spd.
Will not be cheap.
