Default Experience with Fabspeed 200 cat x pipe

Experience and opinions wanted.

I have been running Fabspeed Maxflow mufflers with the factory exhaust system intact for about 2 years. Thinking about adding the Fabspeed 200 cat x-pipe or another sport cat that works with the Maxflows.

Does anyone have the sport cat and muffler set up and your experiences. Opinions and recommendation are welcome even if you have something else.

I would like to know if it there is drone with this type of set up and the pros/cons. I hate drone.

Thanks.

Mark

I do not remember if I had any drone with maxflows and x-pipe but I got rid of maxflows eventually and reinstalled stock mufflers as I got tired of constant noise. it was fun for 2 weeks, then it became too loud for my taste. your experience can vary.

to fit stock mufflers with xpipe - xpipe may need to be cut as it is too long but it was several years ago.

I can't speak to Fabspeed's set-up, however I added an NHP 200 cell X-pipe along with X51 headers into Tubi mufflers that were previously installed with factory exhaust manifolds and cats. The change to the exhaust sound with 200 cell X-pipe is absolutely amazing. I actually bought the Tubi's to replace Fabspeed mufflers because I was so disappointed with the sound at low RPM's... Very flatulent sounding in my opinion. The Tubi's sounded better, but still left me wanting. The headers combined with a 200 cell X-pipe completely transformed the sound. With the exhaust pulses finally being able to mix with the x-pipe, it sounds like a baby cup car-LOUD at full song, but ZERO drone or any annoyance with the Tubi mufflers. NHP's X-pipe is really well made and performs beautifully. No CEL's ever.

Just put the fabspeed 200 cel cat X-Pipe on this morning. I've got OEM headers, and Fister sport mufflers and the EVOMS V-Flow CAI. I'm in heaven. No drone, but it screams in the canyons. Drop the RPM's down to 2500 and the neighbors won't even notice what you've done. I see custom headers in my future... I love the X Pipe - a real game changer. The car sounds amazing now.

Hey Mark! Thanks for running our Maxflo Mufflers, I hope you're enjoying them! If you're looking to get our Sport Cat X-Pipe, let me know and we'll set up an order for you. It's a great way to save weight, add an even more aggressive tone, and get some great power games through your exhaust. I messaged you as well. Feel free to email me if you want to pull the trigger on the X-Pipe! Anthony@Fabspeed.com

I'm happy that you like the end result. I know there were some issues and i hope everything has been resolved. Let me know if there's anything else you might need and we'll make sure everything goes smoothly. Thank you for also offering clips of your set up!

I have the Fabspeed Headers, 200 Cell X-Pipe Cats, Valvetronic Mufflers, and their J-Pipe Competition Carbon Fiber intake on my RUF R-Kompressor car. I can't itemize the changes and which parts accounted for which change since I did the full Fabspeed exhaust all in one shot as part of a new Rear bumper project. Previously, the car had FVD Mufflers (very nice, but no valve control and a bit too quiet), RUF crossover cats (not X-pipe - individual cat and pipe for each side but they started rattling), the OEM airbox & headers.

The Fabspeed system with the valves open in sport mode sounds absolutely amazing at higher RPMs, just like a cup car. The valves in the OEM PSE mufflers actually came apart inside the muffler due to the additional pressure or volume from the exhaust because of the supercharger, but Fabspeed guaranteed their valvetronic mufflers to me for life even in my modified applicaiton which is what sealed the deal for me. Been installed for 2 years and about 10,000 miles without any issues.

I do have some cabin drone or resonance though, but since my intake is modified, I can't attribute this to the Fabspeed setup or how it would behave on a non modded car. Even so, the sound, throttle response and much better breathing at high RPM really opened up the power from the car, maximizing the benefit of the supercharger. I haven't thrown in on a dyno, but would guess I'm in the 475-500 HP range with the supercharger, intake, & exhaust modifications. The fit an finish of the parts is beautiful - like automotive jewelry.

Thank you for the compliments! Your set up looks fantastic!
