Hi great thread, thanks to all for the info. So the sleeves are just straight tubing or is there a section cut out to help the clamping? anyone with a pic of one? Thanks

They are precisely machined "split" tubes with shoulder on top to stop unwanted movement.

Tom...those are interesting! Those weren't around a couple years ago when I was going to buy a used GT3 coilovers. Without these tubes GT3 coilover won't fit without changing out the uprights then you also need new brakes. These tubes should save guys a lot of money that insist on using GT3 coilovers.
Personally I'd just get some Bilstein Damptronics or other brand of coilovers from you guys. I'm not sure why I had so many shops and Porsche dealers tell me that GT3 PASM will not works with Carrera PASM control boxes whe you have made it work. That is great news and leaves me shaking my head at some very well know shops and dealers. Hummm....

The 997 Turbo and C4 run about ~12 degrees of negative castor angle in order to clear the front drive drive shafts. The castor angle is built into the stock upper mounts. If you are installing stock GT3 shocks or Bilstein B16 GT3 shocks on a Turbo/C4, then you will need angled spring hats(see photo). The angled springs are made for use with 70mm ID springs in order to clear the OD of the stock upper mount. We have the hats and springs(290 in-lb main and tender springs). We also have the sleeves for the GT3-size shock body to fit the Turbo/C4 uprights. And of course the lower perches for 70mm spring.

The alternative to go for the more expensive spherical bearing angled camber plated with racing type spring hats.

With Porsche stuff I've been steered in the wrong direction multiple times. Only to spend money on something I didn't want because someone was mis-informed.

Welcome! Very glad to hear your friend loves the coilovers.

Cool. DSC will transform stock GT3 shocks & springs to something more motorsport oriented only when the car's load requires the extra stiffness(load = g-force, vehicle speed, and driver's steering & brake input).

The damptronic springs are ~260/520 in-lb. DSC will make them perform at a more uniform rate of 400/600 when the car is under the appropriate loads for the stiffness.

PM sent.

Default More questions about fitment...

Sorry to reopen, but I wonder if the GT3 struts would fit also a Carrera 2. Seems they can be fitted to the Carrera S with some adaptation, but would like to know whether they also fit the C2 non PASM. If so, are there any aftermarket parts needed and where to get?

The C2 doesn't have PASM, but I just want to know if they can be used as regular coilovers per say. You know, passive lowering as other coilovers would. Do I make sense?

I'd like to lower the car a little for aesthetics. My car is mainly street use with occasional track day for recreational thrilling experience, you know, more for pushing the car legally and "safely." haha

Otherwise any recommendations to lower the car without braking the bank? Everyone always recommends the KW and Bilstein, but that stuff is more money I want to spend.

Any information will be much appreciated.
