I've known both my current dogs since they where one day old. They are Scottish JRT's bred by a family that's been breeding them for generations. Since we purchased the first dog(Rico) and picked him out when he was one day old we waited until they had a litter with a uniquely colored female(Chloe). Once in a while they'll get a coloration that basically looks like a rotty.
They've been constant companions for the last 7 and 8 years respectively and have enriched our lives in many ways. They are loyal, non judgemental and are always genuinely happy to greet us every morning and when we come home. They've been a comfort through some hard times and in their own way have helped out. They get to ride in any car I own.
This is probably my favorite picture of the dogs. My favorite thing about these dogs is that they're like a 150 pound dog packed into a 15 pound body. Rico looks like he's gone crazy but if you look closely it's because he was sleeping and the puppy at the time, Chloe bit his arm. My wife was taking a picture of them sleeping right when Chloe decided to chomp him and wake him up.
JRT = Jack Russell Terrier!!! Oh man, I puzzled & puzzled over that acronym last night. It is always funny to me, when I watch Westminster, seems the various dog groups are so impeccably well behaved, until you get to the terriers, who look like they're ready to cut loose if they were given half a chance. Thanks for all the great dog pics, everyone...T
"JayRace...Ok so I guess I better post a pic of our Wheaten. She's in the wagon with her brother, a Norwegian Buhund. "
JayRace...I had never even heard of a Wheaten terrier until my wife brought Cassie home. Since Texas is relatively hot most of the year, Cassie's coat is usually much shorter than typical wheaten length. Below is Cassier with a longer coat.
I'm understanding of people who are afraid of dogs, for whatever reason, real or imagined. And I wouldn't say I like every dog, any more than I'd say I like every person. Some of both are unfriendly and vicious. But I get an immediate dislike and distrust for anyone who says they just don't like dogs in general.
