Default 15mm spacers - too much for rear

fitted a set of 15mm spacers on the rear of my 997 which has 19" lobster claws. the offset was far too much.

so I replaced them with 7mm and the fit is now perfectly flush. I put the 15mm onto the front and its looking better also.

I recently put 18mm spacers on my rear lobsters and I thought it was too much too, I had 10mm's on the front so I took them off and put them on the back and I like the 10's much better. I think 12 or 13 might look good in back too but anything more is probably pushing it for my tastes so I'll probably just stick with 10's. My fronts had looked pretty good with the 10's but I think I'll put either 5's or 8's up there, can't decide.

You're doing the opposite of what people usually do with 7mm & 15mm spacers. That's a common size combo, but with the 7's in front and 15's in back.

15 rear and 7 up front is perfect. Your front will appear wider than the rear. Weird IMO.

That is very strange. I have 15mm spacers on my rear with Lobsters and they are just flush with the fender. But yours do look to be sticking out. Strange. Are those lobster claw wheels original to your car or could they possibly be c4 wheels on a c2? Just wondering...

That's what I was wondering too.

agree its rather strange, I only bought the 15/7 combination because it appeared to be most common on here - at first I assumed I must have just fitted them in the wrong order. but no, 15mm rear is what everyone recommends. mine were way too far out, probably 5 or 6mm too far. rear tyres are 295 wide so i didn't think they were for the C4, but how would I check for sure?

What is the offset shown on the wheel? It's the embossed number next to the valve stem on some wheels. I know it was on my 997.1, but I don't see the numbers there on my 997.2. Must be somewhere else but I'm not popping the wheel off to see.

Just more info that I think is correct:
997.x 2 and 2S has F/R offsets of 57/67 (with 295 tires in the rear)
997.x 4 and 4S has F/R offsets of 57/51 (but with the wider 305 tires in the rear)

Are your rear tires 295's or 305's? The 305's would cause an extra 5mm of width on each side also.

I didn't care for the 15mm on the rear either. I stuck the 7mms on the rear instead and left the front stock. I have a set of widebody offset turbo rims as well, and they fit exactly like the OE narrow wheel with a 15mm spacer.

Are longer lug bolts required to run these spacers?

Those are the correct offsets for the rear of a NB 911. Not sure why your 15mm spacers looked too wide. In winter I run 295 DWS tires on WB offsets (51) which is like having 16mm spacers and they look fine. I have a set of WB classics (easy to clean) so that is why I use them in the winter. GL.

Thanks for the info...I have a 997.2 C4S and my car (original window sticker as I am 2nd owner) came with 19x11 and 295 tires in the rear. It seems like everything says the C4S is supposed to have 305's but would that not be a 11.5 or 12 in rim?

Also not to steal the OP's thread but what spacers would I need to run on a C4S to push my stock wheels out to the edge of the fender?
