Default Back seat removal question

So today, finally I decided to remove the back seat in my cab so I could re-install my kids child seat. I was hoping to gain an additional inch which I did but in the removal process, I pulled out a couple of the Velcro patches attached to the carpet.

I'll take pics tomorrow but the bottom seat pad is attached, (like the bottom,) with Velcro. This Velcro is some super secret German hook and loop obviously because it required effort to remove. Two of the three Velcro patches came with the seat, leaving the little plastic tabs behind the carpet. The plastic 'bolts' are fine, just that they pulled free of the little plastic tabs securing the Velcro patches to the carpet.

I spent 45 mins trying to fish and reattach one until I decided to stop and do a little research. Those of you that have done the rear-seat removal, have you run into this? If so, how do you pull the tabs forward enough to snap the plastic pegs in?

Glad I'm not the only one then. Of course Porsche couldn't have glued the tabs to the inside.

I wrote this version but didn't remove the velcro. I also left the seat belts in. Maybe is should be added to the DIY list?
