2008 2S with 109 K miles ?
Any input on buying a 2008 2S with 109.000 miles ...? It's a
two owner car with good dealer service history, original engine replaced under warranty at 30.000 miles in late 2010. Any thoughts greatly appreciated (PPI aside)

I would want to know how so many miles were racked up so fast. That's a serious amount of ground to cover in a short period. Was this a daily commuter? Does the person live in Texas?

as long as the service history is good, and it's priced appropriately, go for it.
in BMW-land (where I came from) I'd RATHER have a 110K-mile car than an 80K-mile car.... as MANY items tend to wear out and get replaced between 85-105K.... but you still get the price break for the excessive mileage....
between the wife and I we drive 40K+ miles every year... averaging ~16K on one car isn't really a stretch.

That's good to hear Dark Helmet. I'm about to pull the trigger on a 328i with 109,000 miles coincidentally from the original owner. Almost half the price of all the low mileage cars.

As many on here with 1o,ooo miles on a 5 year old car. This does seem like a lot of miles. For those that actually drive their car, @15,000 miles per year is not that much. I have put on 22,ooo kms in 15 months of ownership. Still going strong. Service records? That is what I would look for. Price would be the other.
As Dark helmet said above. Often there is an expensive service in there, and the car is tossed/traded before that expense. Like 6o,ooo miles, oil plug and coils. There's a $2,ooo dealership cost. Check the service log book. Whats due at 109? Has anything been skipped? I don't mind a car with a little patina.

Car may have been put into service late in 07. So in 7 years averaging 15,000 miles a year is not truly excessive. I know some people who commute 200 miles each day to work.

I've got 88k miles on my 2009, 82k miles of those were put on by a single owner who used the car for everything. It was consistently maintained at a Porsche dealer, and the PPI checked out! The plus side I don't worry about putting miles on it!

high mileage usually means long distance driving which is good.....minimal brake and clutch wear....engine always reaching operating temperature.. I bought 2005 997 that averaged 15k per year in the first 3 years when new. Now at 65k... original brake pads and clutch...zero oil consumption

That mileage wouldn't bum me out too much, but definitely should come at a good price for the buyer knowing the trade off is, it can be tough if you want to sell in a few years as the mileage can obviously only go up & there are many lower mileage examples out there at competitive prices.
It's not too hard to rack up the miles. I've clocked just over 18,000 miles on mine in the past 11 months and I typically walk to work - mine has almost 73k today and already it feels like I'm getting past the "time to sell if you're gonna sell" mark - so it's a matter of thinking what your long(ish) term plan for the car is.
If you're buying it to drive and maybe mod a little or take to the track or autocross & not sweat the mileage, you'll probably be pretty stoked.
But if you're buying with resale in mind, you'll need to practically steal it in order to drive it AND get money out of it on the back end.

Ronan, I've never had a lot of interest in dyno runs, but may come out like ngng because it's great to meet new people & fellow enthusiasts, and maybe take some great pix.
Sorry again for the brief thread-jack!
OP: Any movement on the car? Did you get a PPI result?
