Hi guys, i have a 997.2 4s pdk, and the only thing i really would like to improve is the sound of the exhaust, it doesn't have the PSE.

I also have a 964, and recently I've done the G pipe alteration and the sound is now amazing. It costed basically something like 100 dls

Just wondering if there's anything similar for the 997.2, some kind of muffler substitution that will make the sound more "aggressive".... Is there anything out there?

Try Fister.

I also have a 997.2 C4S with PDK and had the same problem with my exhaust sound (too quiet). I ended up getting the Fister mod from Darren and it is HANDS DOWN the best money I have spent on modding the car.

 

I have a stock exhaust for a .2 C4S taking up space in my garage if you want to keep your stock system stock as a backup or for resale. Have no idea what it's worth so I have to look into that.

Any ideas to improve it without spending thousands of dollars, (in my case euros!!).

Is the stock center muffler still on the car. If so, my first suggestion is to replace that with a muffler replacement set of pipes, like Sharkwerks, or similar pipes in Europe.

Yes, 100% all stock! Did you have the pipes alone with the stock exhaust? I mean without the PSE? How was the sound?

Have you checked out the Gundo Hack? It's the same premise as the Fister, but you
have a local muffler shop or fabricator do the work. If you search "Gundo", you should find plenty of examples. I did the Gundo with 2" piping and it sounds great.

 

I tried both the Awe Tuning crossover (effectively the same as the Sharkwerks IMHO) and the Fabspeed X-pipe as center muffler replacements (I had a rare chance to get both for cheap), leaving the stock side mufflers in place. I ended up keeping the Fabspeed and selling the AWE pipes but both were nice and either provides a slight increase in volume and a hint more aggressive tone. They are a small improvement but for me it isn't quite enough still. I'm leaning towards the PSE, I recently got my dealer to take me for a ride in a 997.2 with one and it sounded spot on for what I am looking for. Very pricey though.

I had the Fister mod on my previous car and while it was a lot of bang for the buck, it wasn't nearly as intoxicating as the PSE sound. Of course, it costs you about a 10th as much. Despite having seen many Rennlisters say the sound is the close to the same, I found them to be a lot different.

 

Agreed. I've been a Tubi diehard but have the PSE/Sharkwerks combo now and it's my new favorite.

 

The sound was louder and more agressive once I installed the Sharkwerks pipes to replace the center muffler. I drove it that way for about 5 weeks and then installed the PSE, which was the plan all along.

I have Cargraphic sides and Sharkwerks centre bypass, I'm happy with it, nice grunt and burbles with good volume.

 

Go Tubi if you can afford it.
